Bump all you want. Girls IHSA volleyball weekend cost us a crowd for this game. As long as we're hosting a game during Thanksgiving break we're never going to draw. Worse: Normal is a fun road trip for an RV heading out of Fargo.

But I'll be there. Birds just need to give us plenty to cheer about!

free DP Dough Calzones to the first 10,000 fans wearing red might help improve the situation ... time for DP to put his dough where is mouth is ... all in favor ????

  ;)

There are no students to throw the calzones at next weekend. Plus during Butler game calzone toss one of them separated from its wrapper in mid-air and splattered the poor brave soul who caught it. Giveaways are dangerous!

that is flipping classic !!

This fanbase thrives on excuses.

When I️ was in school, none of this was an issue. Get in the car and go the damn game then go back home for vacation.

Classic!

What years were these? I’d love to look up and see the bustling attendance at games before Thanksgiving when you were there. Do tell please.

Mel ... you're not inferring he is trolling, are you ? Now why would a "fan" do that on their own fan board ?

p.s. i hear santa cason walked from 10 miles to stadium because parking was so overfilled .. and walked right into a 30-mph driving snow storm ... and up hill ... both ways !

I don't think Santa Cason is a troll at all. I just don't remember a time where an isu football game before Thansgiving was a hot ticket.

Where's the party at Saturday morning? Time to forget about what could have and should have been in Brookings.

One more shot at playoff glory. It's almost go time.

Playoff play-in Saturday, high noon in Normal.

See you all there.

Sold out?

just 70 tickets available in Home/east side after recently releasing 150 that were on hold.

hard to say on west side and student section, but it reads like over half the west side is sold out. Not sure what to expect for students given weather is cool and windy ... good news is that forecast for day time is improving .. up to 49 with some sun and a little less wind .. 14-24 mph instead of 20-30 mph.

Looks like rain potential more for later in day .. so 50 with no rain, just windy is very tolerable ... but stay tuned

I hope Student Alert is doing their usual thing rallying students .. this is best year for attendance in 10 years.

Once you find the party let me know. I'm a student and will be attending the game probably alone (most of my friends are going home for break Friday). But, I'll be there cheering loudly alone or not.

Love to hear that a student is sticking around .. thats the kind of fan support this program could use more of.

What's the vibe for students sticking around Friday night into Saturday ? How much is Red Alert promoting the game and rallying students ?

Well Red Alert made a couple of posts on their social media page, but that's about it. They didn't post how important the game is, so for the students who don't follow ISU football they just think it's sort of a regular game. There's usually reminders on the boards in classrooms but I haven't seen any yet. I doubt there will be a lot of students.

not good to hear .. sports admin should be talking with red alert about how huge this game is for our season and program ... not good that this opportunity is being squandered.

oh well ... attendance is still improved this year ... but if there is big disconnect with red alert, that has to be corrected.

thanks for info and appreciate that you are sticking around. hopefully, you are spreading the word .. this is possibly the most significant regular season we've played since UNI 2011 .. in terms of home games with important playoff implications against a quality opponent.

Yeah I definitely am spreading the word to classmates and coworkers. Some people "have plans" and some people just don't care. It's sad honestly, but where are the good tailgating spots? I'm trying to have a great time.

I'll be in G53 with a friend . Getting there bright and early as it could be the last time to tailgate until next September. Put that with a huge game and it should make for a good atmosphere and fun tailgating.

We have a parking pass in G53 also. Sounds like we better have a pre-game toast to the Redbird W that we're all hoping to see!

Not that anyone should particularly care .. but for the record,. I seriously debated staying home and watching this big game from the comfort of my family room and recliner. Except then it hit me ... this is my thread .. since frickin July, this is my thread.

So I am bundling up to deal with the weather elements and making the drive down, and going to sit thru this with whoever else shows up along with the players .. so walking the walk after all my talk about the importance of this game.

I don't want or deserve anything for this .. just felt like I, of all people on this fan forum, need to man up and support the team in person. Amd wanted to let the forum know.

Hell .. even Crazzy is recommending this game over the mall per other thread .. I still have goose bumps from his Adrienne-Rocky like inspirational post.

Planets are aligning for Redbirds to bring this one home tomorrow.

Redbirds got this one !!!

My group has decided to grab breakfast and beers at a restaurant instead of tailgating and head to the game around 11. We have touchdown terrace tickets so I believe we are going to get in the game early to make sure we get a standing spot under the tent (they still have the tent setup there, right?)

The plan was for me and my three year old to have a lovely afternoon of football under partly cloudy skies in 60 degree weather in beautiful central Illinois in Mid-November.

Unfortunately, I believe that we will have to pass on this one. Which pisses me off since I’ve had this game circled for 2 years but it’s not worth getting him sick OR dealing with a complaining 3 year old midway through the first series.

Sorry fourth, but it’s the couch for us.

can't blame you for that .. tomorrow could be very rough day with 20-30 mph wind, rain, and temps dropping all afternoon.

I suspect the east side suites are going to be filled and stands pretty empty.

Prolly setting up near Cindygate tomorrow around 9:30am so we can stake the tent down with the wind.

If anyone is looking for shelter and probably free tickets look for the pirate flag.

I have a feeling that there will be about 7-8,000 no-shows today. For those that are going and who have tickets on the New (East) side, I would recommend moving over to older (warmer) side today. It should be much warmer and more pleasant there.
