All we can do is chip away and rally the slowly expanding fan base to step up whenever the opportunity presents itself. The upside is there .. but it will take time and work. This is likely gling to be the most important game 11 since 2011 against UNI ... playoff implications against top 5 team ... weather was bad, very cold and windy ... great game, tough way to lose, then get screwed out of playoff bid ... fans did not turn out due to weather but I doubt it would been more than 8k even if weather was perfect. Still have to chip away best we can.

I hope we're getting to the point where Redbird Nation understands what beating an opponent like NDSU means to the program. If you're gonna be a top FCS program, you have to win this game whenever the Bizen come knockin'. I'm planning on being hoarse on the 19th.

I think they understand. But they don't want to do it 20 degree weather.

I'm searching for an analogy, but can't come up with one quickly.

Redbird "Nation" understands what it would mean. Problem is, that is sort of like Luxembourg or Monaco, a pretty small nation. Like, maybe 2500 seats worth in November. We need more expansion in our nation!!

Sorry, you can thank the damn wall Friedman built for keeping new citizens out.

I'm going to the game with Larry Hoarse.

pssst .. this is looking more and more like a huge game. Buy now, and don't tell anyone wearing yellow and green .. pass the word carefully.

Would be very cool to fill Hancock on senior day, win the game, and potentially get higher seed than Bison .. forcing them to come thru Hancock a 2nd time in playoffs.

buy now !

so as long as we already sold out WIU .. now is the time for Sports Admin and Red Alert to crank up the marketing for our Senior Day game against NDSU.

Let Spack and team worry about taking it one game at time and getting us to point where the NDSU game will really matter .. whether it be playing for our playoff lives, playing for top 8 seed, or imagine possibility of NDSU having to come thru Normal a 2nd time during playoffs .. don't dismiss importance of any of those scenarios ... huge, huge, huge.

So Sports Admin and Red Alert , and ISU ... do whatever you can to sell tickets and get season ticket holders to put their butts in seats for NDSU senior day. Do what you can to get students to stay extra day from Thanksgiving break. to fill the west side .. or the Green and Yellow Bison will.

Imagine the bump this program would get from beating NDSU in front of senior day sell out crowd, and the playoff benefits .. this game could be historica as regular season games go... the potential for statement game for team and building fan base here is off the charts.

Market the sh-t out of this NDSU game .. finish off what you have to for WIU, but push the pedal on NDSU now .. WIU is sold out.

Need butts in seats, not just tickets sold .. I'm talking to season ticket holders now .. 1,200 Homecoming no shows was embarrassing.

I didn't go back on this thread to see if it was mentioned, but a friend who joined me for tailgating last weekend at Homecoming said he had tickets for the Bison game as part of a package deal offered by the ticket office. So at least something was being done it seems like.

Going to assume this is the Spack Pack special, which allows you to buy tickets for 2 different games at about 10% discount. And if you have online account and already purchased tickets for a single game, you can "upgrade" to the Spack Pack, and still get the discount. This was great idea for NDSU game since it was not going to sell out before.

Only 60+ tickets left on home/east side .. so that is good, assuming we don't have massive no shows. Sports Admin need to promote this game or we will have lot more than the 1,200 no shows we had for USD homecoming.

Away/Student on west side (north half) is still blocked off, so that is good. South half of west side is pretty open still, so that is where Bison invasion will occur, unless our fan based steps up.

Red Alert needs to rally students to stay the extra day into Saturday and school to support this .. hoping one of the cafeterias stays open thru Saturday - I think I heard they do this anyway ? And Sports Admin needs to get the north half of west side filled more.

Heed fourth's warnings...above is what is coming to Normal. Time to get some redemption for 2014 and the missed opportunity of hosting the Bison in 2015 in the Semi's.

Update ...

Home/East side is down to 3 individual seats .. so just need to promote this game to season ticket holders .. need actual butts in seats !!! but this is promising sign that people bought up all of these tickets .. except 3 seats. I may buy them just to scalp them !!

Away/West side .. student sections (124, 125, 126) still fully blocked/sold out ? south half (sections 121 and 122) have high availability, and section 123 medium availability .. so no idea how many tickets remain for south half of west side.

So the good news is it looks like we should fill 3/4ths of Hancock, so long as season ticket holders show up for most part. If we keep winning, Redbird fans should expect more Bison to start buying more of these west side tickets. Same for tailgate spots.

Turnout is looking way more promising than our usual senior day before thanksgiving.

Bump all you want. Girls IHSA volleyball weekend cost us a crowd for this game. As long as we're hosting a game during Thanksgiving break we're never going to draw. Worse: Normal is a fun road trip for an RV heading out of Fargo.

But I'll be there. Birds just need to give us plenty to cheer about!

free DP Dough Calzones to the first 10,000 fans wearing red might help improve the situation ... time for DP to put his dough where is mouth is ... all in favor ????

There are no students to throw the calzones at next weekend. Plus during Butler game calzone toss one of them separated from its wrapper in mid-air and splattered the poor brave soul who caught it. Giveaways are dangerous!

I can guarantee at least a group of 6 students will be there - my son and daughter and few of their friends. I have a little leverage over them.

The Birdswin tailgate will be out in force, including a special guest - who wears a World Series Championship ring.

We’ve had Home games during the IHSA Volleyball weekend before.

The conference makes the conference schedule. We can’t tell them no home games the weekend before Thanksgiving unless there is a conflict with the stadium.

This fanbase thrives on excuses.

When I️ was in school, none of this was an issue. Get in the car and go the damn game then go back home for vacation.

Classic!

What years were these? I’d love to look up and see the bustling attendance at games before Thanksgiving when you were there. Do tell please.
