Play Horne and Reeves 35 minutes. Get them better for the future and hope they want to come back and play. We all know what Copeland and Torres can do. They are both gone at the end of the year.

Someone earlier mentioned our minuscule recruiting efforts in the Midwest. I agree. There has to be players with a chance of D1 success in the Chicago Public League and suburbs. IMO, and in Central Illinois, we have missed out on two outstanding shooters in Kaden Froebe of Lincoln and Connor Dillon of Peoria Notre Dame. I believe either could have helped us. Or look to Wisconsin or Iowa for the fundamentally sound player.

We’ve missed several good ones over the years. Pekin’s Todd Peterson to Northern Illinois, Morton’s Bisping to Siena......

at a certain point you are what your record says you are. muller's record says he's a middling coach. he might get better but historical cbb data would say otherwise. i wish he was better. wish the team was better. they aren't. best to pull off the bandaid now & avoid wasting any other seasons.

Agree, I've posted this now and then. Doesn't have to be a 100% Illinois team, but got to get a core of guys from this general area. Look at UNI for example - they get some guys from the Twin Cities and Chicago, Illinois etc. but the core of their team is always some hard nose Iowa kids. Not all that much movement, they keep their guys for 3-4 years for the most part. Look at that InSU team that trashed us Saturday - core of Indiana kids, some Ohio, some Tennessee, etc. I see Wisconsin every year - lots of Wisconsin and Minnesota kids, they've had a pipeline to Ohio for some reason, a couple from Illinois now and then (Alando Tucker, Frank Kaminsky, Mark Vershaw from Peoria, etc.).

You bring in 3-4 kids every year, try to get 1-2 of the best in the state, that fit your scheme, and your in much better shape, IMHO (of course, it would help to have a scheme, but that's another story!).

Madbird....It makes you wonder if the local kids just won't come here. Their coaches/advisors may not like Muller and are pushing them elsewhere. It is beyond me why we cannot recruit the mid-west other than that. Their is little loyalty for players from all around the USA. Time has proven that to be true.
