We could get the coveted 10 seed in St. Louis on Thursday night in what is becoming the Illinois State Invitational. How sad.

No semblance of organization on offense, bad technique and lazy movement on defense.

The team appears to have quit on the coaching staff.

I honestly think there have been times including a period in today’s 2nd half where the coaching staff have also given up on the players And quit coaching( or they’d probably say, giving some other guys a chance). I’ll admit that because of my frustrations with both players and coaches, I didn’t watch the first half continually, watching the Bison lock down another Nat. Championship. i haven’t been as enthusiastic about the improvement of some players as the HC has and I didn’t see that improvement today, but they are taking a tremendous number of minutes, compared with the periods where we were making runs and having positive possessions in our last two wins.

It would be really interesting to see the +/- analytics for each of the player’s time on court, but what I’d really like to see is +/- analytics with ea. Five players on the court. I know that competition also always impacts this, how about doing it just for Valley games so far.

I though we found a starting 5 during the UIC and UNI victories of Rey, Fisher, DJ, Reeves and Copeland and they haven’t seen the floor together since, unless they did in the first half today when I was switching back and forth.

I see the main issue is we don’t have a tough enough guard that can drive to the hoop. If we do, I’m not seeing it.
Get a penetrating guard and the three opens up.

this team has more than one main issue.

Just a few years ago this thread would’ve been 40 pages by now. It’s 3. Can Dan and get this ship righted.

Coach has got to go. Even diehard fans have got to admit the obvious. This program is an embarrassment. I debated renewing my seasons tickets this year and in the end decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. This team is as useless as the cup holders in Lyon’s new and improved Redbird Arena. Muller can’t recruit, can’t coach who he does manage to recruit or if they have any quality they leave ISU. I’ll go to a few more games only because I paid for the seat. But not next year. I’m done. I’ve got better things to do with my time and money than to spend either on a program mired in and seemingly satisfied with mediocrity.

Our offense is terrible and teams have figured it out. However, just stop turning the ball over. Dan has no reasoning behind his subs. Every time a player turns it over at this point they should be subbed out.

Check out the statistical comparison for conference games between Horne and Copeland. Horne is better in ppg, in rebounds, in field goal percentage, in three point percentage, and has far less turnovers. Horne is a true freshman and Copeland is a 5th year player. IMO the season is lost so give the minutes to Horne, Reeves, Chastain, Bruninga, and split minutes with Hillsman and Rey. I think knowledgeable fans have seen enough to know that Copeland, Boyd, Fisher, and Torres are not game changers despite their age and experience.

Think about it. Once upon a time we were ably represented by Derrick Mayes, Ron Jones, Jeff Wilkins, Rick Lamb, Hank Cornley, Rickie Johnson, Mark Zwart, Lou Stefanovic, Brad Duncan, Michael McKinney, Matt Taphorn, Randy Blair Tony holifield, Jeff Harris, Jarrod Coleman, Rickey Jackson, Muller as a player, , Rico Hill, Leroy Watkins, Jamar Smiley, Osiris Eldridge, Paris Lee.......

And now this descent into darkness.

This was sooooo difficult to watch. An ABSOLUTE 100 Percent, unmitigated Embarrassment!!!!

Muller not only looked lost and forlorn - it was a complete Deer in the Headlights. He has absolutely NO IDEA what to do or say. Just a Pathetic excuse for what was a well respected program. This team acts and plays like it has no chance to win and no confidence with the ball. BAD, BAD, BAD.

I saw nothing good out there today. I never turn off the game when I don't know the end result. Today, I did. We do not value the basketball and do not play with any purpose. The team has no identity and no leadership. FED UP in BALTIMORE.

On the positive side, I just went to pre-game Happy Hour for the Ravens game. GO RAVENS!

At this point I want them to lose every game so Dan gets fired. Can't keep your job at 6-25 regardless of contract. They'll find a way. Play wack for Yak is what I'm calling it.

Yesterday's game gave me the opportunity to think that we may actually
be a 10th place team in the MVC and a Loser on Thursday night in St. Lou.

How can that be? Oh......it be.

Some speak to firing Dan. Can't/won't happen with the contract. Is Dan the type
of individual who will step forward, speak to Lyons and Dietz about just compromising on
a settlement and departing? If all 3 gentlemen agree we are in a hopeless situation these talks
could happen I guess. If I were Dan and living this situation it would cross my mind to do the Right
Thing and settle.

He has to be miserable at this juncture. A settlement that could be stretched out over X years and digestible
for the University to move forward. Dan would leave and most would honor him for his integrity.

I have always been in Dan's corner but all I had to do was watch the first 2 minutes of yesterday's game and know R Birds
are in serious trouble. Our kids have 0 confidence and we R Tight. The remaining minutes were no different with certain players
not having the confidence make a crisp pass or even a simple dribble drive move without kicking or losing the ball. These kids
are shaken and our skill is NOT as bad as it plays.

So early in conference play and feel no excitement or entertainment value in the games ahead. Tough to be a sad Bird.

I don’t know if Dan will agree to this. I could see him thinking he can fix this. Plus, the options for Dan have to be bleak. Going back to being an assistant and having to work hard?

If the board was smart they would get rid of Dietz and Lyons for allowing the extension in the first place. He didn’t win anything and ISU should never give out extensions they can’t buy out.

To the game. Do we do any scouting??? Indy State is the best 3 point shooting team in the league and we give up 2 wide open 3s to start.
