Don't buy him fitting in at Gonzaga. Talent is there, but the off the court stuff...

But he fit in here. What does that say about our culture?

Just that Mid Majors need to take more risks than P5. It's not like he killed someone. And yes, I consider Gonzaga and Wichita State P5.

Gonzaga has established themselves and don't need the risk. He was a high risk and high reward guy for us. Every current MVC school would take him.

I guess I'm poking fun at Dan's referring to the program's culture quite often. Would love to hear him define what that means to him. Maybe that would clear up some of my perceptions versus what I see as reality. But certainly not holding Dan accountable for all that goes on with a dozen or so 18-22 year olds. My parents raised me right, but I made some dumb decisions at ISU too.

Gotta be a decision soon, so he can get registered somewhere. Whole thing seems weird.

I am assuming that there is a 0% chance that he could return to Illinois State?

Pairs, Tony, and Javaka have all come back to campus since graduation. Mikyle has been in Eugene. Hawkins has not. I would put it at 0%, but change "could" in your post to "would." There are no rules restricting his return to ISU. The want isn't there from both parties.

If we had Hawkins back, a lineup of Clarance/Evans, Copeland, Milik, Hawkins, and Fayne would be very good. I don't think it would happen but it never hurts to think about

I do not want him back, it would set a terrible example. Good luck Hawkins.

So school starts next week, and Hawkins is not enrolled in one yet.
Did he receive his Bachelors degree this summer?
Do you actually need your Bachelors degree to enroll in grad school?
Will he be joining PLee overseas?

I suppose you can enroll in grad school before graduation, but no way in hades can you attend.

Unless you find one of those real cheap online dealios. Maybe he's playing for an online team.

Since Dan gave Gassman a scholarship, we only have one to use for a late 2017 surprise or 2018 signee. I guess Hawkins/grad transfer would be ideal to open up that scholarship again for 2018. Would hate to be locked out of 2018 if everyone actually stayed after next season. And if Chastain looks good, assume he'll be looking for a scholarship as well.

Question: Since Chastain is an interconference transfer, does he have to go 2 years without a scholarship or be forced to sit 2 years?

I know he is sitting this year, but if we were to give him the 2018 schollie would he then have to sit out the 2018 year?

The way I understand it is: if he walks on this year (his sit out year), in 18-19 he can get a schollie and play.
