Question: Since Chastain is an interconference transfer, does he have to go 2 years without a scholarship or be forced to sit 2 years?

I know he is sitting this year, but if we were to give him the 2018 schollie would he then have to sit out the 2018 year?

The way I understand it is: if he walks on this year (his sit out year), in 18-19 he can get a schollie and play.

Thank you. That's what I thought the deal was, but I had seen somewhere else that he had to go 2 years without a schollie or sit out 2 years.

From what I've heard Hawkins wasn't the most normal guy on the team.

Can you expound on this at all?
No, I really cant. A friend of mine drives uber during the summer and he had a bball mens coach that he picked up. They got to talking about Mcintosh and Hawkins both transfering and the coach didn't understand it. The coach then said yeah Hawkins hes a strange individual

Interesting a coach allegedly admitted that they didn't understand the transfers of both MM and DH. I have always assumed that it was a given and based on mutual understanding that they were going to transfer -- well, maybe just on the DH side. It seems MM was a surprise. Some on this board have suggested DM may have shown DH the door. The bottom line is they are gone but we received some exciting players that show nice potential upside.

Great that he finally settled on a place -- he is going from a team that won 28 games last year to one that was:
2015-16: 7-25 (0-18 conf)
2016-17: 9-23 (2-16 conf)

Hey but at least he gets to play against better competition.

Boston does have a much better nightlife than Normal.

Wish him well. As others have noted, he was not really welcome to stay here--that was decided at the beginning of last season, and was due to the off court issues. I hope this leads to good opportunities for him, and he stays out of trouble. He won't have to drive to the bars in Boston!

Is official..MM and Hawkins graduate!

Good for them. Regardless of the secondary consequences I think it reflects well on a program that is able to graduate it's student athletes. I believe Tony, Shaka, MM, and Hawkins all graduated this past year. I am not sure on Paris. Either way thats great.

All five completed their degrees this summer.
