Sadly if you review Kenpom like an educated poster, you’d see isu finished 198 last season, far ahead of Wilmington and not in the bottom 100 (but close) Shocking, I know.

A huge mistake would be for muller to turn this into a Janko non conf schedule. The fan base is not pleased and will not turn out to watch this crap. With janko the fan base was still somewhat engaged because he revitalized the program and won a good amount of games. Muller playing a bunch of cupcakes will drive fans even farther away from RBA
Your attacks on others intelligence notwithstanding, your sole context is to denigrate Redbird athletics and fan base.

Quinn, I’ll stop trolling JJS now, so no need to call me out for constantly calling out the fact that his sole context is to denigrate ISU’s athletics program and fanbase. I’ll may continue to call out his attacks on others’ intelligence, tho.

I bet you are fun at parties. Lighten up.

Also, what does your reply have to do with the schedule?

Plus, throwing a fit over whether someone hit reply or not is dumb.

You say Jamin is trolling to denigrate ISU athletics. Has he posted on any other board? I never saw him call out football for being cowards and quitting, or softball and women’s basketball choking in their conference tournaments.

Lastly, on the schedule, the predicted Kenpom rating of our opponents so far is 195. So not gonna get an at large bid with that.

you do realize 200 still sucks, right? bottom 150 is not much better than bottom 125
You do realize that 175 is right in the middle. There is a big difference between a team in the low 200s vs teams +300. My point is that I believe it's an ok opening game and makes sense given where we have been the past few years.

1. Its home
2. Colonial conference opponent so decent mid major conference
3. You have a chance to compete/win
4. Its not a dog opponent like Chicago St, d2 or SWAC
5. It most likely will be a competitive game

Maybe if you have the 2017 team you open differently ... target an inexperienced P5 and steal one on the road. That's not the case here as many have pointed out profusely.

Given our team what ideally would you target as an opening day opponent?

Marquette? Dan played Shaka team when he was at VCU.
School has to have a budget to pay the team and make it attractive not to return. Guarantee game means school is too high and mighty to come to Normal, doesn't want the commitment in future years when the Redbirds might be better. I'm going to guess Indiana. They have a new coach, probably want as many home games as possible to avoid hostel environments as he learns his players and they learn his style. But I'm always wrong.

Iowa would be a good drivable game. Iowa City is about 2:45 to 3 hours from Normal. You wouldn't have to worry about Luka Garza this year either.

We're thinking about "drivable" incorrectly. I think he meant IWU. With the wind coming from the north and if you hit it straight, you can drive Wesleyan's quad from ISU's.
