Yes and yes.
Yes and yes.
Not even debatable on the scheduling. Muller was way better.Muller has proven that he is not a good coach. He's shown that and everyone has their opinion on it. However, is scheduling has been so much better than Jank's. It's not even close.
Average of 223.8. In Janks best SOS years, Creighton/Wichita State/UNI were ranked at some point that helped boost his numbers. Outside of the conference, he played one T25 opponent (No.23 UNLV in 2010)
Jank SOS 07-08: 17108-09: 255 09-10: 265 10-11: 326 11-12: 102
Average of 108.8
Muller SOS 12-13: 87 13-14: 120 14-15: 99 15-16: 108 16-17: 109 17-18: 89 18-19: 125 19-20: 114 20-21: 128
Even in a COVID year, Muller still managed to get a T25 team on the schedule. Muller was also helped by the success of the three aforementioned programs, at times. Outside of the conference slate, Muller has played six T25 teams and several others who were on the cusp or ranked later in the year after playing the Birds. No. 5 Louisville in 2012, No. 14 VCU and No.25 Dayton in 2013, No. 2 Maryland and No. 1 Kentucky in 2015, and No. 23 Ohio State in 2020
Though there haven’t been as many T25s on the schedule lately, other games were against really solid and respected teams. Murray State, BYU, Seton Hall, Belmont, Ole Miss, UCF, Cincy, WKU, TCU, San Diego State, etc.
I’d take a schedule with those teams on it over Norfolk State, Nicholls, Winston-Salem, UCSB, Grambling St, Montana State, and Bethune Cookman.
Criticize Muller's coaching, recruiting, suit coach, wife's profession, or whatever else. But when compared to Jank's scheduling, Muller get's the nod 10 times out of 10.

Yes, but he can not coach!
Well, at least the first sentence anyway ...It's almost like you didn't read the post at all...
Rumor is they’re waiting for a Boeheim to step aside at Syracuse. He’s long wanted for the opportunity to turn a onecboroud mid major back into relevance.Ok so I need to retract my prior assertion. I am now positive Dan is staying - granted next season will be his make or break. Also it has nothing to do with what is owed on his contract.
Rico.....I didn’t say this years team was better offensively. Dan’s first team had Jackie & Tyler. This years team with Jackie & Tyler would beat Dan’s first team with Jackie & Tyler on it.A) Sophomore 15.1 Points 3.7 Rebounds.....DJ Horne
B) Sophomore 12.4 Points 3.3 Rebounds.....Antonio Reeve
C) Sophomore N/A.....Emon Washington
D) Sophomore 9.0 Points 4.9 Rebounds.....Jon Ekey
E) Sophomore N/A.....Howard Fleming Jr
F) Sophomore 7.7 Points 3.9 Rebounds.....Johnny Hill
G) Sophomore 2.5 Points 1.1 Rebounds.....Zeke Upshaw
H) Sophomore 4.5 Points 1.4 Rebounds.....Nick Ziezloft
I’ll still go with A, B, & D
C & E will have to see how Sophomore year goes!
As for “Numbers”, Points & Rebounds pretty much win games!
I meant that regardless of strength of schedule or quality of roster, Dan can not coach. So your post is mute...It's almost like you didn't read the post at all...
Watching this awful Evansville vs Indy State game. Not even debatable on the scheduling. Muller was way better.
Muller’s problem was he only won one big game be beating Dayton. The blown second half leads to Northwestern (first year), Louisville, Maryland, Kentucky, Seton Hall, and (2017) Murray State, TCU, and Tulsa.
I use Kenpom for SOS. The interesting thing is Janko had such a terrible non conference schedule yet overall w MVC games included Janko had an average overall SOS of 135.8 and Muller is 106.1. The disappointing thing is the MVC isn’t nearly the conference it was when Janko was here and all we have is 1 co-championship.
I brought this up a few months ago and it actually is the right way of looking at it. The additional cost is the three years of the new coach's contract. If you want a heavy hitter you may pay more than 900k over 3 years. If your willing to hire a first time coach you might get 900k or less over the three years. You could look at it this way
Since he’s set to make another $600,00 next year, firing him this year is actually more like a $900,000 payout.
This can’t really be compared, but do you really think playing 4 guards would remotely have a chance against Wilkins or Ekey? Those two would score at will. Not to mention are our guards ever scoring against Tyler Brown, Upshaw, Bryant Allen, or Johnny Hill? All those guys were either long or super quick.Rico.....I didn’t say this years team was better offensively. Dan’s first team had Jackie & Tyler. This years team with Jackie & Tyler would beat Dan’s first team with Jackie & Tyler on it.
Disappointing and embarrassing. Another year of failure ahead. Lyons 2.0
You know about 2/3 of this board is in a private chat celebrating right now. They get to keep their buddy Dan even if it means more losing and Thursday night appearances.Son of a b*tch. Year 10, baby. Three straight years of Thursday night isn't enough? We are screwed. The lyons/muller train wreck comes back for another year. This sucks.
Can we play Chicago St twenty eight times next year?

I suggest we email the new AD and ask him what is he waiting for? There is absolutely no reason to keep Muller on as our HC. If it is a $$$ issue then we need to find the funding and find it quick. If Dan had any dignity left he would sit down and negotiate a buyout in an attempt to save face. He makes me long for the Richarson days. And yes, I realize I didn't spell his name correctly but since he didn't coach much D here I leave it out of his name. Petty on my part. Yes, it Son of a b*tch. Year 10, baby. The AD has received calls. Hasn’t returned voicemails. Apparently, too busy protecting Lyons legacy and completely destroy the basketball program. Can we play Chicago St twenty eight times next year?
