This would be a really good hire.I hear Paul Chryst is available.
Lol we're down to kickers as excuses? We were without a solid kicker for most of the year until Wagner came back - our punter was marginal - our injuries hurt (but everyone has) - however our NIL is laughable right now and unfortunately we're the minor leagues for FBS to poach from
I doubt that was his point.Lol we're down to kickers as excuses?
To even mentiont it is laughable when there are 14 other things firstI doubt that was his point.
weird fight to pick ... no reason to assume that is all he thinks needs improvement. No one is required to do full dissertations on entire state of team with each post ... unless your afflicted like me.To even mentiont it is laughable when there are 14 other things first
Nagy was 12-4 in his first season. To Coach's much deserved credit...his first 7 seasons he went 56-29 overall, 37-19 in conf play, semi's&finals. No doubt about it, best run we've had. (Todd Berry was getting us on a roll, too) The guy's results, for what we have to offer, were VERY good.
My question for you better-versed 'ballers. Why the difference this latest 7 years??
Too bad we were the only team affected. We were poised for a much better season in 2020 but due to COVID we had so many transfers once the season moved (especially defensively) and we had some players opt out.

Your opinion, and I respect that. The issue I have with statements like that is that’s kinda what you’d expect a program with low expectations to say.Post in thread 'Fire Brock Spack' Fire Brock Spack
Look at the players that were coming back and either transfered or opted out including our starting QB
I also think ISU was at a disadvantage versus some teams in the spring with indoor facilities and the weather. Sure others had to endure that too, but some had a clear advantage over ISU.
Lastly i believe there was fallout when we went 1 - 4 and Spack decided to end the season abruptly. Look at the players on the same list that transferred after that season
All of FCS had to deal with COVID but we were hit especially hard and it was a MAJOR set back to the program .... that's my opinion at least.
It feels like the time has passed on looping Spack in on this. He was passed over when Purdue hired Danny Hope to succeed Joe Tiller. Spack, a former Purdue linebacker and defensive coordinator during its glory days from 1997-2008, became head coach at Illinois State and has done an admirable job in 14 seasons there, winning a pair of Missouri Valley Football Conference titles and a trip to the FCS national championship game. This would be a more likely candidate under former athletic director Morgan Burke, who preferred to hire head coaches with Purdue ties.
He would have a shot at the DC position...and he'd make a lot more money than here.It kind of surprised me - and will surely surprise the Spack "haters" on the board - to see Spack's name on a list, the long list, of possible replacements for former Purdue HC Jeff Brohm, who has moved on to Louisville. Also mentioned was former Bison HC Craig Bohl. Not that it was a ringing endorsement of Spack's chances.

Well, at least three times - for Danny Hope (when Spack was DC) to replace Tiller, for Hope's replacement Darrell Hazell (fired with a 9-33 record), and then when they hire Brohm. That's why I was surprised his name popped up. Altho the writer did acknowledge "time has passed" probably for Spack. Maybe there's some "regret" out there, at least over the first time. Hope got fired after 4 years and 22-27 record. Spack was 28-18 in those 4 years here.Didn’t Purdue already pass over him once, when they hired Brohm?
I don't think Spack is up to the HC job in Big 10 or any FBS level .. maybe a G5 in lower end conference. I just don't see it with his offensive resume, outside of his run game results. It kind of surprised me - and will surely surprise the Spack "haters" on the board - to see Spack's name on a list, the long list, of possible replacements for former Purdue HC Jeff Brohm, who has moved on to Louisville. According to the administration..........as well as everyone with a functioning brain stem..........your grammar needs a lot of work (proofread before post might be a good policy) and unverifiable, fictitious references to sources such as "the administration" are weak.According to the administration, he had coach had not exercised enough equity in years decisions for receivers so you go woke you go broke.
Coach Spack's best window for a move to FBS was probably after the National Championship appearance. I don't see any Power 5 school looking to hire him now. I don't think it matters anyway, I don't think he wants to leave ISU. He has been in that job a long time and I think he is happy as the Redbird's Head Coach.I don't think Spack is up to the HC job in Big 10 or any FBS level .. maybe a G5 in lower end conference. I just don't see it with his offensive resume, outside of his run game results.
But certainly could again do the DC job very well. In fact, I think being at ISU in the MVFC has made him an even better DC over the years .. the experience of consistently reloading and rebuilding strong defenses has been very impressive considering the limitations at FCS level. With better athletes, he would do just as well at next level. Can't say that on offense in pass game.
This makes a lot of sense. Spack was against playing in spring 2021 and was apparently talked into it. We were not only at a disadvantage compared to most MVFC teams given facilities. But it just didn't make a lot of sense given we would have to bounce right back for fall season.Post in thread 'Fire Brock Spack' Fire Brock Spack
