It's not clear where you're getting 16-22. His record over the last 3 seasons is 11-15, over the last 4 seasons it is 21-20. I provided the record for his entire Redbird coaching career but if you want to play the "what have you done for me lately" game his record is 6-5. Not great, but above the historical average for this institution. It needs to improve. He has a good chance to accomplish that.
Good change to accomplish being mediocre. 6-5 is the EXACT same as 0-11

Let me get this correct - TBS 20's math tells him 6 wins is the same as 0 wins and 5 losses is the same as 11 losses? Sounds like the type of math used by (fill in the blank).

I don't think Spack will be fired but not because of anything to do with what happens on the field. I don't see ISU eating his contract. Simple dollars and cents. I fully acknowledge Spack's contributions...He is the winningest coach the Redbirds have ever had, he has taken them to the National Championship game and he has won more than he has lost. Having said all that everything has an endpoint.
Don't forget. Kyle canned Dan even with the buyout, at an odd time. Kyle gets a highly-regarded guy in basketball. We get an IPF moving once Kyle got here. We get money for naming rights. (Yes Learfield has the lead in that but it was Kyle and The Prez saying GET IT DONE). This guy has attracted some money. Don't think he can't do it (the support to do it) with a football buyout. But be assured the A.D. will not show his hand.

Why can't we be an annual 8 or 9-win team?? We've never had that here which is crazy to me. Transparency - I felt before the year started we were a stale program. I believe it even more so today. Go get YOUR guy, Kyle.

Last 7 years in Conference play, starting 2016. 4th...5th...6th...3rd...7th...9th...7th. That's 7 seasons. Yes we play in the toughest conference. Why can't we beat a Dakota more than once in a comet-appearance? I'm longing for '14 and '15 but she's long gone. Our good coach - and he's a good coach - has a confidence problem in the offense that has been demonstrated over a few yrs. As much as I liked Dan, as much as I like Brock...it's time for a change.

I'm the best armchair A.D. in the biz, folks.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️👎 NOT.

To Coach's much deserved credit...his first 7 seasons he went 56-29 overall, 37-19 in conf play, semi's&finals. No doubt about it, best run we've had. (Todd Berry was getting us on a roll, too) The guy's results, for what we have to offer, were VERY good.

My question for you better-versed 'ballers. Why the difference this latest 7 years??

There's some basic football stuff bugging the hell out of me. Chart the NDSU offense. They go under center. They go spread. They go Wildcat. You've gotta prepare for that stuff They go 10, 11, 12, 22, 21. They go 31 and run stinking power I for crying out loud, You have to prepare for that stuff. We run the same dry stuff out of 11 personnel time after time after time. We coach it up on defense. But the other side of the ball?:poop:

I think if you're in an administrator's shoes, it demands an answer.

And why does that turd look so happy??:poop: We are looking for a pissed-off and completely lost turd. Dang these emoji's better up their game or it won't just be football coaches looking for a job.

Maybe if you spent some time in the Illinois State and Western Illinois locker rooms after the game on Saturday you would understand the difference.
Yes. I'll bet it's easier to sell a recruit that we finished 6-5 and just need to push a little harder to get over the top, than saying well we finished 0-11 and will need you and 20 more guys like you to hopefully finish 6-5 next year.

What has 6-5 got us? More 6-5? Apparently selling them on were almost there has fallen on deaf ears

We were poised for a much better season in 2020 but due to COVID we had so many transfers once the season moved (especially defensively) and we had some players opt out.

You are so right. It's easy for us (myself included) to bitch and moan. But when you're actually a part of it, busting your ass every day it sure does matter. "The poorest way to face life is to face it with a sneer." Thanks, TR. I think I'm over myself.

I mean.....if we are going to play the "we were so close" game.......

We were so close to being 7-4 or 8-3 as well. (YSU and SIU games)

It works both ways.
agree here completely. With no key injuries, this was a 7-4, possibly 8-3 if we have Cole Mueller, playoff team.

But the fact that our depth failed us so badly this seaon ... does bother me a lot. I'm tired of not having any QB depth. I'm disappointed our RB group didn't pan out .. it looked so promising. Maybe our OL was too limited. Maybe Spack tied OC Peterson's hands behind his back too much in 2nd half.

That said, our defense showed it got rebuilt very nicely since our mass exodus during the pandemic from that best ever 2019 defense.

But our kicking game was an embarrassment.

I don't know for sure anymore. Spack has to see this for what it is and where he needs to do better.

We were without a solid kicker for most of the year until Wagner came back - our punter was marginal - our injuries hurt (but everyone has) - however our NIL is laughable right now and unfortunately we're the minor leagues for FBS to poach from
