Winning what ?In denial of what? Please go back to bashing the basketball team for winning.

Additionally, multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Bobby Petrino – the former Atlanta Falcons, Arkansas Razorbacks and Louisville Cardinals head coach – is another name to monitor for the Zips' vacancy. Petrino has his current program, Missouri State, into the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for the second time this calendar year; the Bears also earned a playoff berth in the spring season.
food for thought ... most who have success at this level will leave for next level .. especially up and comer coaches, but even retreads like Petrino. Spack is just a DC at FBS level, particularly the P5 level. And he's not in it for more money, so going G5 or Mid-major for sake of being FBS and more money, doesn't seem like Spack's thing or it would have happened at some point. This is why we shouldn't look this gift horse in the mouth. And yes, he has weaknesses like every coach, but he competes at highest level in toughest conference by far .. possibly in the history of FCS (I-AA) football.I don't know where else to drop this, so here, from the "what have you done for me lately" department, regarding the vacancy at Akron:
Update on Akron's coaching search
The halcyon days for Akron football, at least in this century, consist of a trio of seven-win seasons and an outlier eight-win campaign. Otherwise since 2000,footballscoop.com
Yeah, except 31 points should be enough to win a game. They gave up 38.
I'm thinking it's time to just ignore this and other "basketball forum" threads. No sense tossing more logs on the fire.
that's a pretty specific prediction there, mate !I predict Coach Spack will not be back and Minnesota Gophers Assistant Coach Kenni Burns will be the Redbirds 2022 Head Coach.
Kenni Burns is a highly respected coach. He is from Springfield (which would be good for recruiting Illinois). He played football at Sacred Heart Griffin for Ken Leonard. He played at Indiana University. He had a long history of coaching in the MVFC. So it’s just my opinion that Brock Spack will not be retained and Kenni Burns would be an excellent choice to replace him.that's a pretty specific prediction there, mate !
Care to expound ?
When Does Coach Spack’s contract expire? This whole thread is just plain dumb. AD Brennan is spending his time thinking about our next head basketball coach and how he's gonna plug the million dollar leak in his budget when he has to let the current one go. Firing his football coach at the same time as that would require that the guy be real screw up, which Spack is far from. Just ain't gonna happen.
Very good point ... NDSU, SDSU, UNI, USD, UND, YSU all have indoor game and/or practice facilities. This helps with recruitment, offseason training, and in-season bad weather .. big advantage. Horton only helps to extent it is indoor, but it is not anything like a turf of grass surface, which makes a big difference in terms of timing & prep for game conditions.Maybe the AD is more focused on getting the damn indoor practice facility built so Spack and other sports can prepare on the same playing field as their peers!
Have asked this a couple times with no response, but do you know when Spack’s contract expires?I will not say this string is dumb but I do think it is pointless. I don't see any scenario where Coach Spack is not back as the Redbird Head Coach in 2022 unless he decides to depart for some reason. If 2022 is not quite a bit better than 2021 then it is possibly a different situation. No harm in putting out wild speculation about replacements, etc. but it is just wild speculation. Same as pre-season predictions. People love to do it but absolutely meaningless. No harm though so if it is your thing...enjoy.
Have asked this a couple times with no response, but do you know when Spack’s contract expires?
Spack is proud of the new east side of Hancock Stadium and eagerly anticipates the long sought indoor practice facility.
“Those would be cool things to leave behind,” he said. “They will march the program forward when the next cycle starts down the road.”
Exactly when that occurs remains to be seen. The 59-year-old Spack’s contract runs through the 2025 season.
“I haven’t thought about how long I’ll go. I really haven’t,” said Spack. “When it becomes time I’d rather be doing something else, I probably should be doing something else. I’m having fun with coaching.
"I don’t know if I’ll coach until I’m 70, but I might. I don’t want to rule it out."
Brock Spack on brink of Illinois State football history
Illinois State's next win will make Brock Spack the winningest football coach in school history.pantagraph.com
Thanks! Only thing I could find on it was an article when he was extended for two years through the 2021 season. That was from right after the Championship game. So I was guessing this was his last year under contract. My post have nothing to do with firing Spack (or Muller). I leave those decisions up to the AD.Guess he could be around for a few more years, if he wants it. Some of our fellow posters can start now raising money for the buyout if that's the route they wanna go!
It seems like there should be an article announcing the extension from 21 to 25, but couldn't find that one. So we'll have to take Reinhardt's word for it!Thanks! This!Add money to the football assistant coaches pool to attract an OC. Also, have the resources to keep up with the transfer portal.
