At first, +23 sounded a little steep. But given that they shit all over us earlier this year, the game is at their place and we are a banged up bunch, it's probably about right.

Bold prediction: It's hard to imagine we have the horses left to go up there and steal this one, but if we do, we march to Frisco

And what Lakesbison forgot to include in his prognostication “and it’s ( going to be) a beautiful day!”

beautiful day? its currently -14 here , but at least Ill be ice fishing by sunday!

tailgate will be tough this weekend, just don't be afraid to duck into a heating tailgate tent, you'll be greeted with many beers/shots/food for sure.

extra tickets go on sale 7am wednesday gobison.com/tickets so there should be about 1000 or so.

coach entz says WR Sproles should play *he went out with a sore shoulder saturday*

If we were to win this game, it would be the biggest upset in ISU football history. To think any FCS team would be 23 point dogs after winning two games in the playoffs, is crazy....but how can one argue with the line? The game in Normal was about as lopsided a game as I’ve seen in person. I think this one is closer. We need to shorten the game and find a way to win on first down defensively. If they are consistently gaining 5+ yards on first, we are in trouble.

Here’s hoping coach Beathard can have his greatest game of his career. Does he have anything up his sleeve that he’s been holding back? Here’s hoping Bryce Jefferson can make like Tre Lance and do more than manage a game, as managing the game won’t cut it against the Bison. He’s going to need to make plays with his feet and his arm, while avoiding turnovers, not an easy task.

Against SEMO I said that Bryce Jefferson was going to have to hit on a few passes if we were going to win. That's what we got - a few. 4 completions for 52 yards. I said we would need more passing to beat UCA. We got more but barely - 6 completions for 75 yards. Meanwhile James carried a heavier load than I expected. It's worked so far. The first two playoff opponents couldn't really take away what we like to do best. That changes this week. In the first meeting NDSU didn't shut down James completely but they kept us out of the endzone. Robinson had 94 yards on 20 carries but that game was decided early so most of that yardage was meaningless.
If James is Plan A then we need a Plan B and that's Jeff(erson). Jefferson will again need to pass more if we're going to win. I'd say at least 8 completions for 125 yards but we could also use Jefferson more on the ground. UCA barely attempted to follow Nagel on the Jet Sweep. Plan A isn't guaranteed to work but it will occupy the defense creating opportunities for our QB and others.
Defensively we know we can do better. We'll need to cut that 37 pt. total from the first meeting down to about half in order to win. Bonus points will be awarded for turnovers. NDSU QB Lance has 25 TD's passing and 0 Int's. That might look intimidating but I look at it as a cherry to be picked. I hope our secondary looks at it that way too. We might have to take a few chances. Strip a ballcarrier. Jump a route. Be the aggressor. Make our fans happy - Play To Win ;)
I hated that Nagel Jet sweep ! Why not put a RB/TB to run the Jet sweep. Does anyone think Nagel has Proctor type vision or speed/agility ! OC got to think out of the BOX !

I heard somebody tell me that Jefferson throws the deep ball pretty well, so Edgar being able to play is huge. That guy just knows how to get behind a defense. We'll need a few big pass plays from him and somehow keep the Bisons under 20 points. Got to rush the passer way better than we did in Normal or we're toast.

So weather.com says Sat will feature low of -25 and “high” of 0. Seriously, some of you just say f*** it and tailgate in that s***? I was looking to walking the lots but...

Edit: those are not the wind chills. It’s gonna feel colder???

If some how we win this game I would agree it would be a giant upset but I still put the win at Northwestern as the programs biggest win and biggest upset ever. Beating a Big Ten team on the road and that team went to a bowl game that year is huge.

Plus a side note to that game the guy in front of us was making comments about our University the whole game( He was not talking highly of ISU). Bragging about how he donates one million dollars a year. I kindly thanked him for allowing our school to come in and give them a beat down. Great ISU moment had to share!

If someone lives in frickin ND and has to deal with that crap, they deserve a good football program.... We had talked about driving out there Friday, but its a hard pass looking at that forecast..

The game was huge for prestige, no doubt.....but if we replayed that Northwestern game 10 times, I think we win a few of them. We were the better team that day, but we weren't far off on other days, either. This NDSU game, at Fargo, without our starting QB is going to be substantially more difficult.

The forecast was a high of 12 when I booked travel. That’s still pretty much ball shrinkin’ cold, but at least I can wrap my head around 12. Mrs StL was giving me serious stink eye during the Blues game last night as the situation became clear.

And I still might go, but to me the problem is there is nothing else there I would want to do... aside from the football game, an awful place to spend a few days... Roger Maris Museum anyone?????

Sounds like someone don't like nothing with "North" or "Northern" in the name. ;)

There are worse places than Fargo. Lot's of brew pubs to occupy your time. Not sure what else you're looking for? Cultural activities?
