Never stop recruiting in the college basketball carousel. I'm not going to start speculating who might leave but Muller has been burned by that before and had to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Really hoping the 2018-19 Illinois State Redbirds have these players in uniform, healthy, and academically eligible:

Keyshawn Evans
Madison Williams
Elijah Clarence
Zach Copeland
William Tinsley
Milik Yarbrough
Phil Fayne
David N’diaye
Taylor Bruninga
Rey Idowu
Demontay Dixon
Matt Hein
Matt Chastain
Isaac Gassman

One of Chastain and Gassman will be a walk-on (both if another scholarship player comes in)

Chastain is on scholarship next year.

I thought the coach said he would have to earn it? Or did he do that already? I'm pretty sure he should be on scholarship. I'll be excited to see him play next year, along with Copeland.

Well... considering Chastian and Copeland both go to the captain's meeting to meet the officials before the opening tip, I would say Chastain has a scholarship next year. I'm guessing Ike loses his, or we have someone transfer out. A scholarship will make itself available, I'm sure.

I heard Dan say that too. That's good point. Makes me think Matt will be the real deal.

If I remember correctly, Kendale Hampton attended the same high school as Xavier McDaniels.

Would love to find someone with the rebounding skill of X. He was just amazing. Hell, I take someone with half his skill . . . would still be an improvement overall.

Chances of getting players of his level in the MVC are probably gone.

I watched Josh play his entire freshman home season and this kid can really shoot it. He likes to gamble defensively a little bit, but has a nose for the ball in the passing lanes. He is undersized for the Valley imo, but sometimes the scoring outweighs the size.

Under sized at 6'2? So, he is probably 6'0-6'1? Same as Daishon Knight, and he was pretty good in the MVC.

So, it appears Josh signed his LOI to Cal State- Northridge- this season but was recently granted his release 3 days ago. Perhaps another D1 team who has a former Lake Land player on it reached out and made him change his mind. I appears he would be a sophomore if he came in with this recruiting class.

Edit: the release was due to a HC change.

He only follows 111 people on Twitter, while having 1k+ followers. Among them include Penny Collins, Brenden Mullins, Murray State coaches, ETSU coaches, Iona, and other D1 coaches. Most of the people he follows are D1 coaches. Watching his tape, it looks like he would be explosive off the bench.

But will he be explosive once he gets on the floor?

Unless he put on weight this year, which is tough to do on a JUCO scholarship, I wasn't necessarily referring to height mainly because he has a quick release and first step. An offensive talent like this would definitely add punch off the bench, but playing time wise he might be looking for more than just bench minutes.

...and there it is - Jefferson commits according to his twitter account. Hope he's ready to work. This kid can score for sure. Here's hoping his quick first step and release translate and he's able to carve out an offensive niche in Normal.
