This is my fault. I stupidly subscribed to ESPN+ a couple hours before gametime, knowing it was a full-on jinx recipe. I didn't disappoint.

What a nightmare. Had NOTHING from the tip. Came out tight and on our heels. We looked a step slow all game. Yes, major lid on the basket but we beat ourselves. NSU was trying to give this one away and we could not capitalize whatsoever. Every time we cut it to 1-2 possesions, they'd answer and keep us at arms' length. Props to them, but we had no business losing this game. DB losing the ball on a breakaway that would've made it a one posession game...KLew's STOOOOOOPIDDD technical foul....losing the ball on a rebound after 2 of their misseed FTs (they didnt score on the possession, but you get the point)...list goes on of singular plays we could've made to tilt the scales our way and we didn't. UGLY game.

We needed to win this one for numerous reasons. One, obviously to just win. And two-infinity, to galvanize and excite the team and fanbase, especially the fence sitters. Coming out and playing like absolute dogballs, to the point that a messy & confusing coaches' argument during a situation that was reportedly started by a racial slur by one of our fans, was the loudest the crowd got, is embarrassing and putrid on multiple levels. Bad loss. We needed this one. We shit the bed. Typical us...big stage = big loss.

Horse bleep officiating taking JK out of the game. Two of his fouls were garbage calls.
Kinzinger doesn’t even start. Our shooting is so bad. We definitely need to work on our shooting.
Still playing with a 4 trying to guard a 5 and 4 guards- I thought they’d finally figured out they needed rebounding and defense- last years excuse was we didn’t have them, now they’ve got them and still not playing 5s- come on
Our bigs think they are guards, and our guards don’t know how to move the offense. It’s dribble and shoot.

10 plus minutes to make our first field goal 2/23 til JK made the last two threes. Abysmal

this loss 100 percent on the ISU players, IMO....we had so many many chances to take control and get the lead and it was just missed shot after missed shot along with a consistent sprinkling of turnovers/foulds the entire game. Lots of fouls for ISU but NS fouled just as much if not more. Enjoyable yet a painful game to watch. Kept waiting for us to make our move and it never happened.

JK was like 4-7 from 3. The rest of the team about 1-20. We didn’t seem to make many adjustments.

This is an embarrassing loss. JK kept us in it, but yeah, little to call out as positive from this one. Luckily it wasn’t in conference. We weren’t getting an at-large, so we just have to learn from this and press on.

That could have happened at rba. If the dude was indeed throwing out racist banter then ban him from all Isu property. You can not try to manage the Isu facilities to the point where you have to accommodate the village idiot. The solution is to get rid of the idiot and carry on.

Foster works hard and is appreciated. Kinziger, as a freshman, may very well be our most clutch player.

This, 100%. If that really is the case, there is zero excuse for it and should be zero tolerance either. That kind of shit makes the whole university look bad, not just what's left of our fanbase. We're so much better than that. Ban the prick from all future games.

It is a broken record now. We shot 27 3's tonight and 24 2's. We turned it over 17 times. For those who say that shots are going to start falling or we have good shooters... what makes that noticeable? We're down to 333rd in the country in 3P%. We're up to top 100 in percentage of shots from three. That isn't going to get it done. Burford is shooting 15% from 3. Poindexter is shooting 20%. Until the offense isn't prone to breakdowns that come from turnovers and poor shot selection from below average shooters we'll keep having conversations like this after games. Winnable game. Played hard. Fought. Didn't maximize possessions and turnovers and too many 3's killed us. Frustrating to not have a fix yet.

Those stats really tell the story. Burford is not a 3 point shooter.

We also got into the trap tonight of trying to rush some 3s to spark the offense. Luke, Mal, Burf, even Myles...there were quite a few ill-advised 3-balls, open or not. It's understandable in one way...the guys were trying to find ANY way to jumpstart the offense, but that's not always the best plan.

This game reminded me of the hangover scene in Varsity Blues. Guys played hard, but were just a step slower and couldn't execute.

I haven't read any posts, just letting it fly.

I'm disappointed we lost the game. Many thoughts on how we played and all that. BUT...it felt like I was back in college. I loved the back and forth with #6 and making him an enemy. Hell of a player who definitely baits the crowd and knows what he's doing. The perfect villain for us to unleash upon. Man I enjoyed that. I loved the noise. I loved that I walked out of Horton feeling just a little bit spent. I loved that those around us stood for much of the game and I loved that we yelled for most of the game.

I used to walk out of Redbird with a scratchy voice, my ears ringing, and emotionally spent. I feel a bit like that tonight. And it feels good.

The bright side as well? We've won 3 out of 4. Offensively I have my SAME concerns (at times big ones) but for the time being I want to enjoy the buzz of tonight. And I am, and I will.

Proud to be a Redbird.

I’m guessing he said something to Pedon. Sorry, my point wasn’t to detail frame by frame every second of it.
Their coach was yelling at Ryan. He started it with Ryan. Ryan had a dude moment and politely said let's talk about it.🙃

I got curious on the "sparking the offense with 3's" portion and wanted to see if it was possible for this team. The results below are... scary.

Career 3-point numbers:

Banks - 29.8% on 161 attempts
Foster - 0% on 10 attempts
Poindexter - 33.7% on 175 attempts
Lewis - 29.7% on 158 attempts
Burford - 33.9% on 218 attempts
Kasubke - 31.7% on 202 attempts
Davis - 29.3% on 147 attempts
Lieb - 12.5% on 8 attempts
Pence - 0% on 10 attempts

Kinziger - 46.7% on 30 attempts

Seeing that, this year's team shooting 27% from 3 is very believable.
