I've known this kids dad, Joe for many years. He was a Chicago area realtor who I bought and sold a bunch of stuff with. Now he's a national trainer. Played B-ball at Lewis and got drafted in 2nd round. Great family!!!

I watched a video of his sophomore year. He looks like a Taylor Bruninga with perhaps a little bit better interior moves. Is that a fair comparison. His rebounding numbers were decent this year albeit a smaller conference.

Looks like he had a younger brother still in high school that is doing well for Lyons Township (LT)

A basketball family for sure. His uncles played at Lewis as well. I hope we get the kid. One thing I can say for a fact. With that family, beer sales at games will skyrocket! :eek:bscene-drinkingcheers:

Former Lyons Township star Connor Niego, who started 31 games last season at Holy Cross, is heading to the transfer portal. The 6-9 Niego averaged 8.8 points and 5.1 rebounds a game in 30 minutes of play. https://t.co/XnQ4zBHFoZ

Not sure if he is a grad transfer ... local kid that played at Hoky Cross

Obviously, it's just a highlight tape by I really liked a couple things about was that it showed him being aggressive against P5 teams. It showed that he has good defensive footwork and isn't afraid to take the ball to the hole. It looks like he'd be a sit one play one unless he gets a waiver. It could be argued that he wants to move closer to home. Doesn't look like anyone from ISU follows him on social media (Idaho, UNC-W, UIS, Missouri-St.Louis, App State, all appear to have interest).

Also, our guy Matt Hein makes a couple appearances in the tape.

He had very few turnovers.... I doubt our staff would be interested.

I noticed he’s labeled a RS Soph in this tweet.

He only played 10 games his sophomore year then got hurt. Guessing a medical redshirt.

I agree ... I would take a chance on this kid.

Muller was quoted recently saying that he believes the team for next year is in place and that he is likely going to use the final scholarship on a sit-out kid. However, Belcher does follow this kid. So does Red Alert....interesting...I wonder if they might be concerned with Dusan's credits from Serbia transferring appropriately.

One of Northwestern's assistant coaches follow him too.

Kid played every minute of a 3 OT game.

The issue is keeping 13 eligible scholarship players happy at once, and as it stands, all 12 of our guys would be able to play next season. If Stuckman understands that we can’t guarantee minutes and he still wants to come here, I’m all for adding the depth. Most of the time, grad transfers are looking to go somewhere where they can move up but also be key contributors. I watched some of his highlights and I think he’d be a quality depth piece.

I put our chance to land this kid right around 0, but it's an intriguing transfer. Some expected him to test the NBA waters. There have been reports that Purdue is "blindsided" by this announcement. This feels like it was driven by desire to win. Blue Blood, likely.

If you would've put money on any of these 25... you would've been wrong. He's headed to BYU.

Illinois Irish AAU kid. Bruninga, Chastain, Christian Williams, Michael Finke, etc. They go by Midwest Prospect Academy now after merging with Quad City Elite.

I say this to simply say that Muller and Belcher have ties.

So if I'm looking at the scholarship matrix correctly Big Fish is the only Senior on the roster. So if it's me, I'm holding on to that scholarship. Maybe a big 6'9" kid from Nigeria decides he wants to help turn a program around. Maybe you give it to a 2021 graduate. Yep, I think I'd hold on to it for awhile.

Unfortunately 10 games is too many for a medical RS. On the HC website, he is listed as a junior for the 19-20 season. He didn't play a lot of Valley-level competition last year, but if he's the best option we have for the scholarship, why not?
