I'm looking forward to seeing lots of Redbirds in action. In the offensive backfield we could see Annexstad and Rittenhouse at QB, Mueller, Wright and White at RB, Presson and Gothelf at FB/H when we use one. We may go even deeper.

The intensity is definitely going up a notch. I watched the Penn St. - Purdue game last night and I saw DB's going in low and hard on tackles taking out the legs. You don't see that a lot in intrasquad scrimmages. Even when they go full contact you seldom see defenders coming in hot and driving through the legs because you never want to injure a teammate. This ain't no stinkin' scrimmage:ROFLMAO:. All QB's are fair game with full intensity. 70,000 people do not come to watch flag football.
Coach Spack commented that this team may have more depth than the 2015 group that played at Iowa. We should see some players rotated in and out. Depth is always a huge advantage for FBS teams over us, as they have 22 more guys on scholarship than we do. That's an entire extra class.

When you say "All QB's are fair game" it shows how much we need to protect our guy in this game.

Wisconsin always sends some of the best defensive players to the NFL every year. This year should be no exception. Knowing we are lining up against likely at least 4 guys who will be playing defense on Sundays in the next 3 years, and the fact that we have no idea what our offensive identity is at the moment...

Wisconsin: 42
ISU: 6

Hope Im wrong.

Did Micah Jones (Notre Dame 4* Transfer) leave the program? He's no longer on the Website Roster. Was looking for him to make some noise this year...

His twitter profile still have a pretty awesome pic of him in a hybrid ISU/ND uniform and the Pantagraph has a picture of his catching passes at practice as recently as 2 weeks ago.

We'll see if we have a good or great running game. Run the hell out of the ball to shorten the game and keep the score down. Wisconsin turned over all of their DB's and LB's. Do we have a great secondary? Get some turnovers! 21-10 Badgers. Y'all have a great time in Madtown and don't drink and drive.

Our only chance making this look respectable for a half is that they lost a lot off their defense last year .. a defense that was probably best in all of FBS.

I think they were #1 defense in total yards ypg, rush ypg, pass ypg, 1st downs per game. They were 4th in points ppg.

But I don't think Wiscy fans are feeling great about their offense. So if our defense improved from a promising 2021 fall season, we might be able to keep it respectable for a couple quarters .. might.

Veteran Milwaukee reporter Jeff Potrykus predicts 34-3 in this morning's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, so I would say pretty conservative on the UW scoring side, to support your thinking. 4 TD's and 2FG's. I could see it - Badgers are gonna run the ball a lot, chew up some clock, and unless their guys break off several long ones (possible), the clock will work in favor of lower score.

Another theory is that the Badgers wanna work on their passing game, so will take this opportunity to pass it around some. If we keep with the rain, maybe not so much. But one could argue our D backfield might be up to holding them down some.

My thinking has been along the lines of 1 TD and 1FG each quarter by the Badgers. UW D is very tough, our offense is a question
mark at this point, but I believe we'll be able to put something together. Wish I could be more optimistic.

I'll say:

I like this idea, though prefer to mix in a bunch of short to mid high% passes to mix it up some .. but for same reason, chew some clock to shorten game. I just don't imagine we'll be able to move chains a whole lot against program like this without mixing it up with easier passes. Lead with run, but keep those safeties and LBers honest.

Just need him to stay healthy. Even on the big completions, he is getting hit hard.
Agreed. Really hurts to lose Mueller. I think we had a couple of really good backs who complimented each other well.

Let’s get out of there without any other injuries.
