Coach Spack commented that this team may have more depth than the 2015 group that played at Iowa. We should see some players rotated in and out. Depth is always a huge advantage for FBS teams over us, as they have 22 more guys on scholarship than we do. That's an entire extra class.I'm looking forward to seeing lots of Redbirds in action. In the offensive backfield we could see Annexstad and Rittenhouse at QB, Mueller, Wright and White at RB, Presson and Gothelf at FB/H when we use one. We may go even deeper.
The intensity is definitely going up a notch. I watched the Penn St. - Purdue game last night and I saw DB's going in low and hard on tackles taking out the legs. You don't see that a lot in intrasquad scrimmages. Even when they go full contact you seldom see defenders coming in hot and driving through the legs because you never want to injure a teammate. This ain't no stinkin' scrimmage. All QB's are fair game with full intensity. 70,000 people do not come to watch flag football.
When you say "All QB's are fair game" it shows how much we need to protect our guy in this game.
