Meet ya at The Pub II, BB.

There's your answer...cheese balls, beer, cheap burgers. Attendance would be through the roof, would probably have to expand at the arena.

I was curious with all the discussions about the promotions and group ticket sales, so I asked about the group sales numbers for the BYU game. 1,200 tickets have been sold so far through the various group promotions they are running (not just the SF one, but it's the main one). I would say that's a pretty darn good number and hopefully it can trickle up a bit more before the game.

That's one part of getting the crowd packed. Now we just need the students to show up and start filling up their lower bowl and into the upper bowl.

I posted it a few weeks ago. Attendance around the country is down something like 140% between 15/16 and 16/17. ISU is not the only school having attendance problems.

There's one thing that will bring people out. Wins.

Question...how can the attendance be down 140% from 15/16 to 16/17 ? At a 100% decrease there would be zero fans remaining. Extra zero?

...but yes basketball attendance has been slipping
You're right. I was in a hurry. It was down 379,000 over the year before.

If you are correct, I will give the Athletic Department credit. That is a good number. Lets hope this isn't a one time thing. Plenty of businesses in Blo-No that they could get involved. Every big game they should do this.

I'm not expecting much from the students. Doesn't seem to be much buzz on social media. You can usually tell beforehand when there is going to be a big crowd.

The best thing to do is go SMALL BUSINESS for mass attraction.

And if a corp is a big donor...give them tickets and fun times.

- Family Plan - 4 upper bowl tickets, 4 popcorns, 4 sodas and a parking pass for $44. Add on tickets are $11. Good for EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME.

This family plan is a good deal. Cheaper than a movie. I'm not sure how they can market this. Maybe to grade schools in the area?

Unfortunately not cheaper than a movie. Most theatres in town here charge $7 or less now. It’s still a good value.

I should have said it is cheaper than 4 admissions to a movie, 4 popcorns and 4 drinks.

And the Family Pack also comes with a Parking Pass!

I know there are admins that read and post on the board. I'm starting to think the only way to get any change is to keep threads like this going. Maybe they will keep listening if called out enough.

This has been done before, and in the planning for awhile, Rico. The listen. And always have.

I should've said what we really need is free pizzas for all ISU staff members...Damn, I missed an opportunity there. I think it's a good idea for them to read this board. Most people give pretty honest opinions.

I think its a BAD idea for them to read this board, and I'll tell ya this and it's protocol. If caught posting on this board, they'd be fired.

Keep the ideas coming maybe make enough noise for real change.

Makes me roar with laughter that some think this board created the free ticket response from the dept.

No offense Quinn. I appreciate very much for what you do. But this place is part vitriol and hate.

Nobody's paying serious attention to this board but us.

Posting too much, IMO. Nothing wrong with reading. They should be getting all types of opinions and ides wherever they can find them including toilet stalls and Redbirdfan.com. Sift through the chafe at the end of the day.

Agreed. No one drinks that much kool-aid to not know people in the athletic department.

I know for a fact the free student tix promo has been on the works for at least 3 weeks to be released on Giving Tuesday. All the promos have been planned for weeks. This discussion has done nothing to affect the promotions. Nothing. The snarky title of the discssion just unnecessarily slams the admins.

Everyone here is certainly entitled to their opinion. I doubt many will agree with mine on this topic.

Interesting rant by TT.
