Good intel on Gates. I did not go deep enough to see he was that locked up.

I don't know if it's just been the dead horse being beaten, but can we agree the favorite has been Powell, Jr. since jump?

That'd be great. Few turns 60 next year. Couldn't he ride that out and take over the 'Zags?

Frazier might be safer to stick. Not sure if he's ready or if it would create the same buzz some on here really want.

I still like Oliver (not really a "native son, but probably still has keys @ RA)

Dane Fife would be interesting, but not enough spice to get the Chicago pipeline going again.

Surprised Paris Parham's name hasn't come up.

I still don't count out Yak.

Ohio State's Ryan Bedon

I don't know enough about Brantley, except his bio (other than a sniff in Spain) is VERY all-Purdue. Might be a lifer there.

Again, please no Lusk or Lowery.
What’s the difference in ISU hiring Lusk or Lowery now or Loyola hiring Porter Moser when they did?

Not a big difference. I don't think Lusk or Lowery create excitement with the fan base and if this is the direction Brennan goes, I think people will be disappointed in the effort. That being said, I wonder how many qualified candidates are knocking on the door for this gig. Being an assistant at a stable P5 program is way more attractive than getting ISU out of the abyss. KSU may not be very stable so I would think Lowery at least knocked on the door. Lusk is in a good gig.

And if they don’t join the valley he likely gets fired before ever making a run. It took a LONG time for him to get rolling.

Other than maybe hurting us a bit in Year One when we lacked a PG and had to compensate, when did Muller’s lack of experience hurt?

His first five years - or even seven - were decent-to-good, culminating in the 2017 Valley co-championship. We fell off a cliff thereafter but in Years 8-10 I’d hesitate to say his lack of prior HC experience held us back.

I'm an Executive V.P. of the Glass Half Empty Pessimist Association, but FWIW........

In 2014 Loyola was #10 seed; 4 years later they were in the Final Four;

In 2017 Drake was #10 and came into this season as preseason favorite;

In 2018 UNI was in the play-in Thursday round and this year won the regular season title.

Of course, guys like Cameron Krutwig and A.J. Green make those leaps a lot easier, but the point is that it doesn't have to take several years to rebuild back to a competitive, maybe even good, team.

Solid article. Nagy is a guy I think we’d all be okay with, but wouldn’t be the exciting hire. Powell, Prohm, Pedon, Henderson are my favorites. Gates as has been discussed doesn’t make much sense.

Good article. Nagy's teams just win. I also remember playing the Jack rabbits back when we had PLee, Wills and company and we got smoked. They were just a well oiled machine. There are a lot of good options on that list but Powell would be my next choice.

I sat courtside for that debacle. Sign me up for hiring the guy who orchestrated a complete schematic breakdown on both ends.

I remember Tony Wills frantically waving Deontae Hawkins out of the corner when our rotations completely fell apart and guys were running to the same spot.

Might have been the sloppiest I’ve ever seen our offense.

Hear me out....AJ Green get his degree from UNI in may.....what if his dream is to play under his HS dad. Green transfers to ISU and becomes the first ever 2-time Valley POY to win it on different teams. LOL. Not happening but would be a FACINATING turn of events.
