Agree that Jankovich was not long for ISU. From the very beginning. I could see it.

I do think there is a good chance if he hangs around one more season, he would be making way more $$$ today. And a P5. The $$$ was not that much better. None of that goofy CIW crap.

When Nic left, he was not thinking SMU at all. He was thinking Purdue, Indiana, etc. But that did not work out. So he went with his old coach at SMU.

Again, I think things might have very worked out better for both of these guys had they stayed another season.

Agreed, it probably would've benefited both to stay another year. Given that Jank was one of the guys wrapped up in the David Salinas situation back then, I'm sure the money was a very motivating factor.

I always found that funny, because as we all know SMU was not a BCS school.

Back to the "watching some games on ESPN tonight", anybody else watching some of the Notre Dame / Florida St. game? Here FSU is #18 in the country, 9-5 in the powerful ACC, and the place is not nearly half full and dead as a doornail. The Seminoles have 17 points with about 5 minutes in the first half, and both teams are bricking and airballing jumpshots. The number of empty magenta seats right behind the benches are plentiful. Wow.

In other news.....SMU lost by 47 pts to UCF today. Good to see Captain Janks fall to the bottom of that league. He’s probably close to being done there. At least he got that 800k/year for a few years before he was exposed.

So no comment on how envious you are of Gregggg blowing his 16 point first half lead?

ISU could only dream of ever being up 16 on a team like Memphis.

Marshall is a deustche but he usually gets to the NCAA Tournament. Might take him another year or two to get back but he will.

I envy that.

If ISU had a multi-billionaire willing to pay $3.5 M per year for a coach, I'd expect better results. Of course, the odd behavior of said coach's wife might not play well in Normal. Memphis is just ok this year.

I think we could be up on Memphis by 16 this year.

Holding the lead might be another story, but getting a double digit lead. Very possible.
