No doubt about it. We should be in the running for a conference championship every year. So, are we going to blame NIL and transfer rules for not being successful? "How do you even succeed in this climate?" Someone has to win the MVC in the same landscape. I bet DeVries, Prohm, Wardle, etc. figure it out. Pedon should be expected to also.
Redbird basketball has literally lost a generation of fans. Starting on a second generation.Interesting the other ISU seems to have more interest from fans. They had 250+ posts on their game today…
Totally agree with this. With the portal the way it is, it seems near impossible to build any kind of brand at the mid major level; unless your “brand” is being a minor league for the P6 teams.I'm glad we loaded up on games early. We need these games to get a lineup and learn how to play under Ryan. I have confidence in Ryan and his ability to completely turn this program around. What I don't have confidence in is the current landscape of NIL and transfer rules...which may not allow a program like ISU to get itself back into a big winner again...due to the potential roster turnover each and every year.
I think coaches at our level are going to have figure out how to win with a group immediately...because every 2 years we could be looking at 12 new kids on the roster., maybe more heaven forbid.
Can Ryan succeed in this climate? How do you even succeed in this climate?
We're probably a .500 team, tops. Which really isn't a surprise here, is it?
They have a transfer from Kentucky they played in their first games. Yesterday they sat him out because of some eligibility issues. Will be interesting to see if he's available today or not.
Hire JUCO coach. They are use to having players for only two years.Totally agree with this. With the portal the way it is, it seems near impossible to build any kind of brand at the mid major level; unless your “brand” is being a minor league for the P6 teams.
College sports are ruined.
If they’re really lucky (or really bad) they’ll have more than just a few players for the full two years. Kids have been transferring JUCO schools for years.Hire JUCO coach. They are use to having players for only two years.
