I'll agree to disagree on the zone vs man deal.

You don't look at 2 possessions in a game and declare a defensive strategy a bust. Would you like for me to pull 2 possessions from our man where we were beat for back doors or allowed wide open shots? Same thinking.

UNI came in with the worst 3 point shooting percentage in the Valley, with a pretty large sample size. They were 32.2% coming into the game. Their overall was also dead last at 39.3%. Pressure them and protect the rim and you should win. Thus, a 3-2, or 2-3 aggressive zone would have been my choice. Dan went a different way and we won. No biggie. Just not what I thought we would do with them.

What the hell is Bob Morris talking about. Saying it isn't a shot just because it was a desperation shot?

Really bad commentary from him. It was clearly a shot. Doesn't matter that it came from halfcourt. Evans definitely fouled him as he was attempting the shot. Dumb foul on Evans; totally inaccurate comment by Morris. He also pronounces Idowu's name incorrectly...not that it is an easy pronunciation.

Also Dan needs a way to tell his team to foul without telling the entire arena. He was on the sideline grabbing his arm. UNI knew it was coming so of course they should shoot.

I think he was saying that he got fouled and then started to act like he was in a desperation shooting motion rather than shooting and then getting fouled while in the act. It did kind of look that way from the stands -- fouled, then pretended to heave it. Happened so quickly and Green knew he was going to get fouled. Either way it was a bad play on Key. I know he feels bad about that but these kinds of things have to be worked on so they don't happen again.

I thought there was a point of emphasis this year not to grant shooting fouls to guys that quick throw up a shot when they get the defender to leave their feet. I was wondering if that same concept might have also applied on that shot. I think if Evans didn't foul him, Green was going to dribble farther before he shot.

Bob Morris was a successful ISU assistant basketball coach back in the day to Bob Bender. I thought he worked together well on the radio when he teamed with Dick Luedke. He has a lot of passion to Bloomington-Normal, but even more to Illinois State University. One of the good guys.

Nah, it was a shot.
