OK. I thought he clearly pointed in the direction of ISU. I think most everyone on the floor thought that too, including some of the Valpo players. But the one Valpo kid confidently walked over to inbound the ball and that's when he signaled the other way.

I feel like we’re getting some home cooking tonight for the stripes, but maybe that’s just me.

I know that they’re struggling in the valley so far but I like the addition of Valpo to the valley. I think they’ll be a good, solid opponent in the coming year.

You really can't help but suck the air out of anybody's halfway positive comment, can you "ISU FAN 1". Curious. Have you ever been to an ISU game in person?

He has and he writes a healthy check to the athletic dept.

Doesn't mean I agree with him.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. He should put a tip jar out because he certainly is entertaining. Just don't be a troll, IF1.

He’s on the bench, doesn’t look serious. Maybe a sprain. Sit him at practice a few days he’ll be fine.

That out of bounds call was real messed up. I think the official simply forgot who it was out on when he awarded the ball. Not good for a D1 official.

After watching the replay it looks like the referee saw someone passing him the ball out the corner of his eye and reached for it which appeared like he was calling possession for the Redbirds when in reality he really meant to call possession for Valpo.

Sitting down by it, it wasnt a reach for the ball. He pointed for ISU. If I'm not mistaken they even announced redbird ball in arena (don't remember). At that point that ref needed to go over and clarify with scorers table. He knew he screwed up. That said I give our kids credit for hustling back after the confusion and almost getting a stop

Solid game. Concerted effort on defense that we haven't seen in a long time.
Big Trifececa were big time, other than a few sad turnovers
William The Trashman Tinsley with a great game
Wicked Top 10 worthy dunk by Madison who was kicking it on D as well.

MW's warface was worth the T.

Muller said the T was the correct call, but the poster was worth the T. Also said there should have been a foul called on the Valpo player.

Postgame on radio, Dan talked about bringing more energy to his coaching. He said he expected the guys to have more energy, so he needed to bring it, too.

I thought EC looked a lot more comfortable out there tonight. He’ll get there with more reps. Once his shot starts falling, defenses will have to guard him, which opens up others.

MW was a beast on D. And that poster was awesome.

Milik looked like he was having fun tonight. I think that helps the team play looser.

Fayne was unstoppable. 11-12 from the field. When he’s playing like that, he’s fun to watch. Cringed when I saw him holding his knee. But Dan said Phil wanted to go back in late in the game. So hopefully nothing bad.

Wow! What a quiet board for this game! Highs: FAYNE was a ton but hope the knee is fine. Big 3 played well in general. Boogie 6 pts 7 rebounds off the bench. For those that think dan doesn’t draw up good plays after timeout that flush by Boogie was sweet! Madison was a terror on D 7pts 8 rebounds from the two spot. Of course the dunk was spectacular! I continue to think Madison is a real key for the rest of the season. Might be the first game we won with team defense and rebounding. Only real negative 4/23 from 3. Not only in % but also the fact we had a serious mismatch inside and continued to chuck em up. On to the next win!

The team defense, rebounding, and energy was noticeably elevated. This is great. When KE went diving for that one ball (KE said hair first on post game) you could actually hear the burn in the lower bowl seats. Awesome.

I know Valpo is at the bottom of the league but the eye test said the birds played well vs. Valpo playing poorly.

One area of concern is defensively handling quick guards. You could just see Evelyn (#4) on their team wanted the ball and was confident he could take his player when he wanted. MW didn't have him often (he drew Walker) but we need 2 guards that lock down on teams like Indiana State, Drake etc... Right now we match up better with teams like Bradley because they really only have one guard that consistently takes you off of the dribble. BTW - both Barnes (Sycamores) and Evelyn are sophomores and I think could be all MVC their senior years. I like them over Brown (Bradley) and other guards in the sophomore and freshman class. Of course you never know what junior transfer will join the league.

Great win and let's see if we can sustain the defensive intensity. Go Birds!

The 8 man rotation was
Milik, Fayne, KE, David and Williams. Plus Hein, Clarance and Tinsley. Gassman was the emergency 9. I would prefer Bruninga over Hein and Gassman.

Some 500 level commentary: I’d want to see TB at the 3 with FF at the 5 and Milik playing big at the 4 since TB struggles down low.
