I disagree, Brick, A player jumping into another player is rarely called anything in that situation, and if it is, it is almost always an offensive call, as it should be the call on the player initiating the contact.

I was there, and and I have watched the replay a couple of times. Thinking about it, I think losing all of those calls down the stretch was because, with about 5 minutes to go there were a couple of calls that went against Valpo, that their coach was extremely upset about. One of which might have been a bad call in our favor. I don't see watching the broadcast how upset the Valpo coach was, as he was making quite of scene, I observed watching from the stands. I just don't think the officials were going keep making calls against theme down the stretch the way the bench and crowd was making a scene. Coaches do this. They are not working the officials so much about the call they just made, just trying to change their mindset for the next set up plays. That's what I think happened.

If it was the road player jumping into the defender probably called most of the time. But if no call made there the refs wouldn’t have got out of the gym alive. If
Milik didn’t leave his feet and the guy jumped into him perhaps you are right. Agree also the sideline charge was a makeup call for the one they missed at half court. MK easily could have had 3 charges All opinion of course. It was what it was, dumb basketball 🏀

Pre-Season Clayton Custer of Loyola was picked as POY of the year.
Milik and Fayne were picked first team. Key was picked second team.

Exactly. And these guys weren't picked where they were picked based on hype by HCDM. It was based on last year's performance. One is living up to his previous performance, 2 are not (one at all, one not consistently). Cope is talented, Tinsley was solid in the back half last year, especially on the glass. This is as under performing of a bunch as I can ever recall for ISU.

Every home game is a must-win and we need to steal a road game or two. Evansville, and Mo State should be possible. If Norton misses significant time (it looked like an ACL last night) Drake will be winnable. On the plus side, Bradley looks awful in a near 20 point loss to UNI at home. We're just getting started.
...

norton out for the year

side bar: should there be a thread for injuries?

You all need to quit using the term “talented” to describe this team. They’re an average team with no bench. Muller duped us all in the preseason by waaaaaay over-hyping the potential of this roster. .

We have a potential valley POY and fayne will make 1st or 2nd team. Some of the other guys can play ball. I dont understand what u mean by this team isnt talented? Its horribly undisciplined with a coach who cant win in an easy conference. That's the problem

Who's the potential Valley POY?

Malik, and isnt he the favorite to win it? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm not.

Milik can't be favored to win the POY, not sure he can even be considered for one of the all-conf teams right now.

Yeah, because a guy who is currently 3rd in the league in scoring (17.2 ppg), 2nd in the league in rebounding (7.9 rpg), and 6th in the league in assists (3.7 apg) doesn't warrant consideration for ONE of the all conference teams. Don't let your disappointment in your perceived level of his play color the actual statistics he has put up so far this season.

I think the refs would have got out of the gym just fine with a no call on the MY "block" call. Few fans would have expected to get that call.

More TOs than assts. POYs don't give the ball away more than they promote points. Team record 1-5 in last 6 games. 6 pts, 6 TOs in first MVC game. POYs don't allow their team to underperform this poorly. MY shouldn't even be considered at this point. No one at ISU should be considered at this point.

I guess I'm one of the few, cuz that was a foul every day any day.

I feel bad for Phil, that he has to play with these underachievers. He deserves better.

If they put odds on this
Pre-season Milik's chances to win CPOY would have been 3 to 1.
Now I'm saying the odds would be 9 to 1.

Five games ago and he was playing like crap at the time. And I did say "right now" meaning at that time. Context and timing are important. He could just as easily still be playing horribly.

Now, go pluck that feather out of your
