Will be interesting to see if UCF can stay at this level. Dawkins is a senior, I think. That will be a huge loss.

I do believe they will. Their whole athletic program is set up for success and they've got the two big draws rolling. (although self-proclaiming the football program "national champions" after their undefeated run was total cheeseballs.)
Word is that Johnny Dawkins absolutely loves it there.

How does he feel about Tuscaloosa, Alabama? Nashville, Tennessee? Westwood, California? Berkeley, California? Pullman, Washington? College Station, Texas?

Not 100% sure, but I think that if Aubrey graduates he has one year of eligibility left if he wanted to grad-transfer. I think any of the above schools could use Johnny & Aubrey Dawkins.

Well, we are in the annual game of dominos within NCAA basketball, along with a little chess...so anything goes. A Dawkins/Dawkins transfer is intriguing.

Vandy seems like the first school to reach out to Dawkins^2

Vandy apparently interested in Brad Stevens, too.

It would be a mistake to judge any athletic program (or coach) based upon one season however when looking at the trend of the UFC program (esp football/basketball and in general overall athletics), conference affiliation, location of the university, size of the university and trend of the academics (moving up and unfortunately just passed ISU) it is hard to find any university athletic program that has more momentum and potential growth. UCF opened in 1968, enrollment is 68,000 and annual athletic department revenue is nearly $60 mil. There is definitely a lot of wind in the UCF sails. Beyond that UCF is quickly becoming as well positioned of a candidate to move to the P5 level as any other university.

Aubrey Dawkins is a jr.

They lose Tacko, BJ Taylor, Chad Brown, and Davon Griffin.

That's 36 points per game (of their 72), 17 rebounds (of their 36), and 5.2 assists (of their 13). So in all, they lose about half of their overall production from this season. Don't forget, they'll be coming to Redbird next season. I won't bring up what we lose in production

I imagine Dawkins is going to listen to offers, and if his son can grad transfer, he will go along with him. Not sure what he's bringing in, but with those losses, I can't see UCF making the tourney next year. The game in Redbird should be competitive if Keith Fisher is Karl Malone like one poster has suggested.

Vandy would be a natural fit because it's power conference affiliation, plus it's academic reputation. If Dawkins is to be really considered for the Duke job when K retires, he will need to prove he can win at a similar academic institution. Stanford was a failure for Johnny.

Well, I am not surprised Vandy is interested in Stevens, as is EVERY college team with an opening.

Why in the world would Brad Stevens entertain Vandy.... If he wanted to come back to college, he could get any college job out there. Not sure he would want to put himself into a rebuild situation.

Vandy is high if they think Stevens is leaving one of the most storied NBA franchises, where he has given them success, to their quickly declining basketball program in a football first conference.
