If only there were some technology available to say "record" the Bears game and watch it when I got home. Guess I'll never know what happened

gotta pick one game as a focus and watch the other on the phone. I have not been one that can watch a game after it has been played with the same interest and passion as when it is real time. That whole "hey don't tell me what happened as I have the game recorded and don't want to know" thingy does not work for me.

Support the 'Birds.

I'll tell you what happens in the Bears' game...

The defense gets too tired due to Trubiskys' inability to develop any momentum with the offense and one of his several picks is returned for a TD. That and Rodgers is out to make a statement that the Packers' success is due to him and not McCarthy. Pack wins 31-17.

And I'm a die hard Bears fan.

put the bong down during work hours.

The Bears will stomp a hole in the Fudge this weekend and put them out of their misery.

I'll go to the basketball game, turn my phone off and dvr the bears game. I'll watch the bears game later but it begs the question why would you schedule a basketball game on a Sunday when the bears play the Packers? Not the smartest thing to do and it really hurts now since the basketball team has underachieved.

Sometimes your opponent, especially if they drive, don't want to be traveling on Sunday night. It could also be a TV thing. They may have also figured the Bears would be .500 at best and wanted a better chance to get fans from out of town. Just like scheduling FB games 3-5 years out, you never know what the future will hold.

They also know the students won't be there and the season ticket holder revenue is locked in. Even on a Sunday night, this time, our team's play right now, and this opponent wouldn't sell.

Should be a 4pm start. No TV. Cleveland State isn’t that far away and they are on break anyways.

:text-+1: ...hate to miss a home game - but leaning towards not driving over & staying home to watch Da Bears

This is also a doubleheader with the women, so their game time may have also impacted it. I would say it's most likely TV and travel. Cleveland State doesn't have another game until they're at home on Wednesday. But perhaps they wanted to get their players back home and resting by late Sunday night.

Well I'm glad when we buy games we are so worried about Cleveland State's and Maryville's ability to get a good night's sleep the night. :confusion-waiting:

I'm sure if Kentucky wants us to come to Rupp or Louisville wants us to come again to the Yum! Center, that TV and travel are going to be a part of it. If TV says they want it to be at 1 PM, we're likely playing at 1.

I'm not saying we're worried about their sleep schedule, but I'm sure their coaches and administrators are. If we are trying to get ready for a game two days later, we may want our guys back and our coaches back so they can get up the next day and start prepping for the next game. Maryville's women play at noon on Tuesday in Florida. I could definitely see the time of their game on Sunday impacting travel. 3:30 PM on a Sunday is a lot later than normal for a WBB game, so I'm guessing it's the men's time that dictated the schedule for the day. I'm sure Maryville doesn't want to have to play a Sunday night game.

At the beginning of the season, were a lot of people expecting the Bears to play meaningful football at this time? I'm not a Bears fan, so I don't know. I would have thought an earlier Sunday start time gives our fans in Chicago and from other areas 1-2 hours a way a better opportunity to get down to the game.

Interesting side note: the WBB game is an exhibition for Maryville.

I say you try to avoid scheduling against the Bears as a rule because it could really bite you in the *rse as it did this year...especially if ISU is playing a historically bad basketball program as many people will most likely opt for the Bears regardless of how well the Bears are performing.

It's not even only about the Bears. Plenty of fans around here of other teams too, and just the NFL in general. Most folks just want to lounge on the couch (or the bar) and watch football all day. I've always thought it's not a good idea to schedule games on Sundays for that reason unless absolutely necessary.

C'mon, everyone. Y'all know damn well that Cleveland State wanted this time so they wouldn't have to watch the Browns.

I can confirm this is correct, I am an actual Browns fan. Truth is the Browns play Saturday night.

Go watch Birds vs Cleveland State or stay home for Bears with a chance to clinch division vs Packers? I think I'll still be there but be streaming the Bears on my phone. Go Birds! Go Bears!

Bears will choke as usual
