Well Bradley, SIU, UIC, UNI, Loyola, Belmont, Drake, and almost every Division 1 team in the Midwest missed on him too.

There is plenty to criticize Muller about but I am passing on him not recruiting Colton.

Colton tore is ACL and the new coaching staff at UTA was not interested. He went to Vincennes and started 13 of 33 games his second year and 4 of 35 his first year at Vincennes. Here are the stats from the second year.

PTS/G
8.7
FG %
39.1
3PT %
34.3
FT %
78.7

I dont think the stats would have turned many heads but what Colton brings doesnt show up in the box score. We all see it and I think thats what everyone admires the most about him.
The last two games were great and he deservingly was MVC newcomer of the week. I guess one sign ALL coaches could have as an indicator of Colton's passion and work ethic would have been he injured his knee in football and played the last 3 games of his senior season.

Give Western Illinois credit for signing him.
Well put. If DM had signed him, we would have heard a lot of Taylor Bruninga/Matt Chastain comparisons (overvaluing an area kid).

ADunk Said....Most of the season, I have just been scratching my head that the previous staff didn't give Sandy a look out of BHS. He tore his ACL the fall of his senior year playing football after committing to UT-Arlington. I'm sure the JuCo route probably would've been the case anyway bit still could've reached out during Juco recruitment.

A Dunk....Sandage was from Illinois and not left handed and not overly athletic. He definitely did not fit the Muller mold. I am surprised
NO. Iowa missed him.
The thing that I love about Colton is the grit, effort and passion he plays with, Colton's game is really a game of someone who plays in the 40 and over league at the Y.

Hey Humdinger - If you don’t mind could you add me as well. I live in Dunlap and couldn’t get to DP. Would love to get one as well if it works out. Just didn’t know how to get in touch with the artist. Appreciate the consideration. Thanks
Sorry, this site doesn't recognize people from Dunlap.

Except he can play, where most 40+ guys only think they can play.

Ironically, those of us not at Horton probably would not have appreciated the play as much if the game was at CEFCU. The above court camera not being "centered" (aligned with the free throw line, always an interesting quirk for the Field House) gave us the angle to see Sissoko traverse the 3/4 court. Some of that distance is lost at the Arena.

He was BEYOND The Valley logo when Sandy got stripped. Incredible play. Has to be top 10, probably top 5 Redbird plays that I've seen live. Osiris 360 layup vs UNI...Dana Ford from the beak....Madison Williams Murdering Valpo...Jackie Buzzer beater against UE....

You missed Rick Lamb's monster base line jam against DePaul to seal the deal.

I didn't see it live, unfortunately ;)
Kennet Pearson’s put back dunk off a missed free throw against Cincy? Sure, we got slaughtered, but that made a Top 10 on ESPN. Or were you in bed since it was a Midnight Madness game?

Bryan B took my number and I'm due for 2. He hasn't called me yet though. Get me your info and when he calls I can pass it along or I can buy yours and we can work details out later.
were they selling posters at the game? I was going to make my own from the pictures of the event,

Not sure but I did run into Bryan and his son after the luncheon and asked. If you want one I can get one or check with DP. Also shoot me a photo of your finished product - might be interested!

I’m at the Y all the time. If there’s a 40+ league sign me up!

I had a great time at the game. What an atmosphere! It brought back so many memories from when I was there in the 1980's. I came up from Alabama for this game and when I saw one of my friends he said "Wow, you came to the game?!" I replied "There was no way I was missing this game at Horton!" I enjoy Redbird, but I miss Horton. It was worth every minute of my trip!
