Mullins loses his best player for year and is 5-3 in Valley behind the strong play of 2 freshmen.

Muller has zero injuries (I don’t count Bruninga....he’s been gone forever) and is 1-7.

Can’t wait to get my postgame video on Insta. Those are just funny now.

Don’t mean to harp on Copeland who is the only reason it was close but what a critical missed FT and horrific final possession. However, Dan used a timeout to chew out Hillsman which could have been used to set up a play there instead of whatever that was.

Can we all agree that our last possession epitmozes why DM should not be our HC... there was no set play - it was Copeland with his head cut off who is triple teamed and still chucks up a wild shot - no play no spread. If it wasn't for a couple of Copeland chucks we would have lost by 10. Lets face it - we are a bad team - we have marginal talent (who gives a F that Horne and Reeves are Frosh - SIUs Frosh were beteter - we are poorly coached and a change must happen - even though DM is a good guy this is a huge stain on our program and we need to find a way to get DM and Larry Lyons out of Normal). Really disappointing to watch thsi team play street ball with no toughness at all.

Simply unbelievable how bad this team is. 24 threes. Cope made 5 and rest of team 4/17. No one inside or out that can be relied on to shoot the rock. And 20? turnovers?

I heard Charlie Cowdrey say once "Choking doesn't give a shit. Just go out and play". Well choking's self imposed and it's got them from the top down.

The scary thing is I was watching the game thinking, if we don't have Copeland or Hillsman how bad would this team be on offense? Hillsman can't guard at all, but at least he has some offense skill. I'm not giving up on Reeves, but now that teams have scouted him he hasn't scored much. He's a long ways away from being as good as Osiris as a freshman. Horne is good, but if he leaves. Next year....hello darkness my old friend.

Can't wait to see how Dan spins this one.... and the reference to Osiris not a bad comparison but O would absolutely chew Reeves and Horne up at that age. Horne... I've already accepted that he has and will ultimately move on after this year

Also, what did Rey do to get in Muller's dog house? Say he doesn't like Chick Fil A or is pro Bloomington-Normal selling weed?

He comes in 2 minutes, stops Benson, gets an offensive rebound, and they expand the lead by 4 to go up 6. Then never plays again. I get that he missed two shots, but if that gets you benched we wouldn't have anyone available.

You will drive yourself insane trying to figure Dans substitution patterns.

Dan strategizing that last possession.

Would have been nice to have had a timeout to set up a play at the end, but the HC burned it earlier in the half because he apparently simply could not control himself and wait until the next stoppage in play to scorch Hillsman for his bad turnover. Unfortunately, the fans cannot immediately call a timeout to scorch the HC for his lack of patience and judgment.

There is talent on this team, but it is raw and in need of some solid guidance and coaching. The current HC is far better at it than I would be, but it is hard to believe there isn't someone out there who would be better than the current HC. For example, Nagy at Wright State seems to be doing a solid job rebuilding that program fairly quickly.

Cannot fault the young men for their effort. They have to be as frustrated or more than the fans. Better execution combined with better coaching could have pulled this one into the "W" column.

All in all, I wish we still had Jankovich at the helm.

As I watched his SMU team finish off the win at Memphis today, i realized how fundamentally sound his team is. Wish we had it in Normal. He had his faults but we would not be 1- whatever in the mvc right now.

My question is how much do any of Janks (not the one awful season) beat both of these teams today? 30? 40?

We only had 17 turnovers today. Improvement

Glass half empty: We suck

Glass half full: None of us will have any anxiety "scoreboard watching" during the final several games of the season in an effort to figure out what needs to happen to make it a lock that we won't be in a Thursday night play-in round game.
