Signing day

I'm officially in the Very Concerned Camp as to no signings at this point......May 7th.

Dan usually gets a nod from recruits when they visit......not this year.

I'm sure there are all sorts of D1 kids available at this point and Dan/staff R all over several we
have no clue about - we need some Phil Fayne type surprises on the 3 open schollies.

If I'm Dan I simply tell these guards we bring in......"hey, if you can shoot, guard, not throw the ball away
and keep your nose clean off the court - you'll get starter minutes!" Maybe the kids he's bringing in can't
meet the stated standard?

Checking back thru DM's commitments, I'm finding mostly the only ones who gave a shoutout after the official visit, didn't commit to ISU. Horne's OV shoutout was announcing his verbal. No shoutout after the OV--that I can find--from Fisher, Boyd, Hillsman, Miller, Chastain, Bruninga, Fayne, Copeland, Hawkins, Wills, McIntosh, Yarbrough . . .

So, seems like no news from the recruits is no news.

I do believe with last year's class, there was a clear shift in the type of kid Muller was recruiting. Previously, he was willing to take risks on questionable character guys. It doesn't seem he is doing that anymore after practically none of them panning out. Lack of commits could also be directed at the sheer number of players who become available every day, specifically via the grad-transfer route. I'm feeling like we'll get at least one commitment this week. Muller is clearly looking for another freshman guard or two. I would be surprised if the final scholarship doesn't go to a grad or a D1 sit out guy.

Have you heard anything about the visits the Birds have had recently and upcoming visits? I hear Kolten Mitchell is here starting today. Any others?

And it's okay if you know some things but aren't comfortable sharing at this point. Just say so . . .

Yep. Mitchell will be here this evening through Thursday after visiting UTC yesterday and Sunday. I haven't heard how the other visits have gone. Not much else I can say at this time. I look forward to Friday.
