Any idea about this GA seating situation? First come first serve obviously but is there going to be just a section for it, or will all of the lower level be GA? Best doors to come into?
I'm sure we'll get more info in the coming days via Goredbirds.com pregame article but outside of the seating designation "Lower Bowl" and "Upper Bowl," the tickets just say general admission. Feels like first come, first serve to me. With the metal bleachers, it would be hard to designate seating assignments outside of that. They could have done assigned seating in the upper deck, but that would me a nightmare. Wood bleachers with numbers and lines painted on them from the 70s...the average person is much larger than what that amount of space would allow.

I'm hoping fans will be uncomfortable on the metal or wood bleachers and use the opportunity, if able, to stand and be engaged throughout the game. Who know what the student turnout will look like, its the Saturday before finals, so the energy may need to come from some loud fans.

The only basketball event I've seen live in Horton is Hoopfest back when Jank was here. I believe Tyler Brown and Jackie Carmichael battled in a dunk contest. TB did a sick behind the legs dunk and Jackie won it by dunking over Reggie. Other than that, all I've heard are stories and how loud the place can get. At the very least, here's to hoping for a taste of that come Saturday!

Just think, buddy, if I could get my team back together and play your team in Horton it would mark two arenas on campus that I kicked your azz.
I'm worried about you and how you remember certain events. But that's okay. You live your "truth" (lies), if it helps you sleep better at night.

I'd welcome another run any time you want!

You seem to continue to confuse scoring in basketball and golf. Let me help you...in basketball, the team with the most points wins. There. You’re welcome.

Still can't believe they called that a 3 and we lost that game.
I was sitting in the upper section, in line of sight behind Greene and the basket. Everyone in our section could clearly see Greene was inside the line. The official closest to Greene had no idea whether or not he was inside the line, looked at one of the other officials for help, then quickly threw his hands in the air and high-tailed it off the floor. A complete guess on his part on a crucial play. That was the second blown call in DePaul's favor in the last four seconds of the game; the first was calling the ball out of bounds off Illinois State when it went off DePaul.

Has anyone worried their tickets and have not received them yet?

Whose team was I on the year I played? I just remember BRMM body-checking me constantly and @gobirds85 kid lighting it up from deep. I should have slept in (we played at 6 AM).

That’s easy. If you won, you were on my team. If you lost, then you were on ADunk’s team.

Yup…BRMM played the most physical defense that year and some how was never called for a foul…. And you nailed it… 85s kid still hasn’t seen a shot he doesn’t like…

It’s too bad TPguy wasn’t there to show all of us how he taught Doug Collins to shoot. That could’ve been valuable for everyone.

My tix were emailed days ago. I added them to my Apple Wallet right away.

(The digital tix look stunning btw. Great job by AD to make them unique and not generic.)

Immediately after the shot, Joey told the staff to hurry and get the hell out of there before they got killed. He knew it was not a 3. The shot was directly in front of the ref. Can"t remember when a 3rd ref was added to the college game.

Like a beer keg at third base in a softball league, that early morning scrimmage needed coffee pots and oxygen tanks under each basket.

That morning convinced me to get back in shape; I’ve never felt so physically wiped out afterwards.

Think we can bring this game back?

We’re hosting the artist (Brian Bloodworth’s kid, I’m told) tonight so Horton nostalgists can buy his prints before tomorrow’s game.

We’ll be buying one to hang on our walls.

(Quinn, please let me know if this is too commercial to post. All proceeds go directly to the artist; we’re just allowing him to hang out and sell his art.)
