I don't think UIC is very good. But we had to rally at home to beat Chicago State by 4 and throttled division III Augustana by 8 at home. I'm guessing we won't be resting our starters in the 2nd half half of this one. At least at this point of the season, we're not a very good team.

I bet we don't either. Otherwise we would be playing 3 on 5.

I don't know what it is but I have faith in the Birds today. They have already had more major let downs at this point in the season than years past. From Belmont, to Chicago State, Georgia, and San Diego State, at some point, they have to learn from their mistakes. If the Birds had won Saturday vs SDSU, I would be more likely to expect a let down.

We know depth is an issue. UIC plays more guards and is much smaller than SDSU. They shoot a lot of 3's, like the Birds. That said, I would be surprised if Rey sees any significant time other than to spell Phil a hand full of minutes. I barring foul trouble I expect 34+ minutes from Phil and Leek, and 30 minutes from JJ, Cope, and Key. Boogie will have to play inside some defensively with the lack of depth and size.

I think we click today and beat Ole Miss Saturday before a little break for finals. Then have a rusty game against Cleveland St then another slow start before a close loss at UCF.

Oops meant 6:30. I am in Florida and forgot the time zone. BUT still a half hour delay to the start

Sports bettors have seen this game a million times. Copeland picks up a quick 2. Gassman comes in. Guards get into the lane. Fayne or Yarb pick up a quick 2. All of a sudden Rey and Gassman are guarding a 3-guard pretty good shooting lineup for 14 minutes. The fouls pile up. UIC shoots 15 FTs in first half. We are down 10 at the break. Can't recover.

Hope I'm wrong.....but. I've been to these games. Almost feels like a fix is in against us with some of these white-haired refs who run off the court immediately after the game.
