This is a game that will show how far along our mental toughness and energy have come Hopefully much better than Chicago state.

I think we find a way to pull out a win like Loyola did. Not find a way to lose like Bradley did.

UICs wins are against national powerhouse William & Mary (by 5... in OT), a D2 school, and the chumps over in Peoria.

If this is a game we're concerned about... then write off St. Louis.

You may feel confident but this does not set up well with 8 players and the road. I went to the Loyola uic game Saturday and uic was scrappy and hung around most of the game. This is not a game to feel confident about given the depleted roster. Gotta believe UIC comes hard at ISU both physically and tempo given we only have 8. This game seems like a coin toss to me. If ISU can get out of there with a one point victory I would happily take that and scoot back home feeling good.

On the other side of this, if we cannot win on the road at UIC with our top 6 players and 2 of the next top 3, who are we? If we don't win this game, I am very fearful about our MVC away games.

8 players should be plenty enough to thump UIC...if we’re who most of us think we are.
A short roster can be a good thing. I mean, if we can’t parse together 40 minutes with 8 of our top players, to beat a bottom feeder D1 program, then we should move to the Sun Belt.

We would be likely underdogs in all MVC road games, except MSU, as it stands now.

I don't think UIC is very good. But we had to rally at home to beat Chicago State by 4 and throttled division III Augustana by 8 at home. I'm guessing we won't be resting our starters in the 2nd half half of this one. At least at this point of the season, we're not a very good team.

I bet we don't either. Otherwise we would be playing 3 on 5.

i think one if the biggest things for us will be staying out of foul trouble. if we have to sit PF/MY for extended time, that could cost the game.

Overlook/let down game. Sandwiched in between the three marquee non con games and on the road against a much improved UIC team. Feels like the perfect storm for a disastrous performance. Also it’s not like ISU has set the world on fire against teams that they are more talented than (or less talented than). I hope I’m wrong but,
