Regardless the fate of the coach, I expect this team to grind and try to become competitive.
I do too. These young guys want to win and build something. I am enjoying how the same people shocked we lost this weekend all said we would get smoked this weekend then are outraged it happened. I thought we would be more competitive and even thought we could sneak one but not the way Loyola moved the ball and plays defense, that was impressive. They are the team to beat in the valley this year.

I fear we'll lose two straight on the road at Evansville. That will then officially be rock bottom. It's a good year to not be allowed into Redbird arena.

No point - dead board, dead fan base, dead program. The Muller virus has infiltrated and destroyed what we all once loved.
I grow weary of blaming the board, fan base for the current status of the program. While you are certainly entitled to your opinion I don’t understand why you post here if we (base and board) are so bad.

Maybe on the offensive end, but on D? I don't see him becoming DPOY . . .
Statically speaking, frankly DJ's numbers will only be thrown into question when comparing him to Paris Lee, why?. I think it's just plain obvious that Paris was on a "MUCH" better team with studs, in turn, aided Paris defensive abilities, this isn't the case with DJ. *Side note* The kid was in a boot, didn't even practice with the team until Saturday, willed himself to be available and showed up(not 100% due to injury)! I hope his parents aren't aware of this board because that kid, in my opinion is the only baller with IQ on the team! All Freshmen team in his 1st campaign, and is on pace to do very well in his second stint as a Redbird. I hope he stick around, because its surely tough to see what is happening to the program!

I was curious since joining the MVC in 81-82 how many times ISU has lost by 30 or more points in a regular season conference game. Only happened 6 times (that I see) in the 39 years ISU has been in the MVC. Plus, 2 MVC championship game losses to Bradley in 88 and Drake in 08.

1991 lost to Tulsa by 41
99-00 lost to Creighton by 38
03-04 lost to Evansville by 31
16-17 lost to Wichita by 41
20-21 lost to Loyola by 30 and 31

The point of the post was that muller is responsible for the decay of said fan base, board and program. I would love to be chipper and post how great everything is, but there’s not a single thing to give me hope as an isu fan currently. Perhaps the new AD is going to save it, that’s all I got.

There is literally not one good thing about Dan as coach.

I was willing to give Dan the benefit of the doubt this season as long as progress was made. After watching game 1 against Loyola I am not sure any more. It does not take talent to box out or move on offense or try to play defense. And I don’t blame the players. We seem weak fundamentally in these areas. I blame the coaching for that. Most of these players got by on better talent in their high school years. Going back to the basics of moving your feet and using a fake pass or getting your butt in somebody’s hip to box out needs to be practiced over and over. Since I don’t see the practice, I am not sure what goes on, so I only have game nights to evaluate. Just not happy with the weak fundamentals the team overall displays. There are some bright spots... Josiah and DJ are going to be good scorers all season, and I hope we use Mahorcic more to develop on inside game. I hope we work intensively on interior defense. Sorry for the long post.... I’m just an old coach that still gets cranky with weak fundamentals at this level. Hope everyone has a wonderful new year.

Mahorcic is going to turn a page and make his presence known in MVC before its all said and done!

The Paris Lee team was good as he was partially responsible because of the defense. They played it as a team that all started with Lee and Wills. I also think Paris Lee was a good floor general on the offensive side. Dean Oliver contributions to our guards was also a big reason for the success.

I like DJ Horne. He knows how to score and his future looks bright. It would be nice to see us develop as a team though. Unlike many, I would say our talent level is in the middle of the valley pack. Our team play is rock bottom. Just my opinion.

I’m not seeing the “want to” that you are. I see a team that routinely gets out worked, and seems self satisfied with the results. I feel like I’m watching players that want to accumulate stats, but aren’t all that interested in the scoreboard. Something rubs me the wrong way about all the high fives when they’re getting their ass beat. I will credit them for their consistency ... a 30 point loss followed by a 31 point loss. Again, just stuffing the stat sheet, mostly with missed shots and turnovers, but apparently learned nothing, made zero adjustments, or even got pissed off enough to put up a better showing.
