I think Ford is around 2.5 million a year. Good for Darren if he can get Drake to jump that high.
You are close enough - SLU pays Ford $2.4 million a year. Well above the Valley. I happen to know one of their High-End donors - they are working was BIG $$$ for NIL and a push to the Big East. The Buyout for Travis Ford is $10 Million - that is a lot. They clearly wanted to make a change.

SLU had people - athletics and key supporters at ArchMadness - taking into consideration both DeVries and Schertz. I understand the agent for Schertz is negotiating between Louisville and SLU.

But...sources told me it was Porter. Then the source of a source told me that it wasn't really a source. But that source dropped a nugget and said that his other source told him that another source had told that source about the source's source who was a degenerate gambler in Vegas who had a line running on what source would break the source in the DePaul job.

My sources won't allow me to say.
A source is a source, of course, of course
And no one can talk to a source of course
That is, of course, unless the source is the famous Mr. Ed!

Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse
He's always on a steady course
Talk to Mr. Ed

So the source is Ed Graney?

My sister’s boyfriend’s uncle’s step-brother’s wife’s cousin’s aunt’s confessional priest’s parishioner’s father’s friend Ferris said it was going to be Porter if the Father willed it so.

i think porter and holtmann are the wrong decision for depaul. Devries is the right answer.

Why would he want to waste Tucker’s last season in that dumpster fire (unless Tucker is going to go pro after this season is over)? My guess is that Darian will go after Tucker ends his college career.

Unless Tucker opts to take his chances in the portal . . . I’m sure there are a lot of really good teams willing and wanting to snatch him up.

If this turns out to be the case, I would think Depaul-ISU would be back on at some point in next 2 yrs.
After the 25 point beatdown the Birds put on them down in St Louis back in 96 they kinda shied away from playing the Birds until playing in 2013 and again in 2014. But after losing both of those games the Blue Demonds no longer had anymore interest in playing the Redbirds. Hopefully a H/H will happen again soon. Would be a good thing.

I tend to think the mentor-mentee relationship will keep that from happening, but if it does my money is on a DePaul buy game (to throw some program coin Pedon's way).

I think DeVries can do better in terms of salary and resources if he wants to. Success over multiple seasons, would very likely bring his son with him. Get another good player; get another Drake transfer - it can be an immediate roster turnaround with quality players.

Tucker DeVries could also command quite an NIL deal for his last year.

My thought were the same.
If Pedon can play his alma mater and coaches can play their friends, relatives, I don’t see how we shouldn’t try for a game. DePaul could argue a loss to us hurts their recruiting, but this is the age of NIL. $$$ seems to matter more.
