Here's another projected bracket. I liked it the first time when it had all the MVFC teams spread out. I hate it this time with 3 of us set to cannibalize each other down to 1 team. Here's hoping it doesn't end up looking like this at all.

They have never had 2 MVFC teams squared off in play in game, then have winner go up against a 3rd MVFC .. they would catch so much hell for that. They rarely jave 2 teams rom same conference do a playin game against each other. They will have one MVFC play another conf in playin game, then play into another MVFC in round of 16..

So this site needs to clean up their system.

Absurd but not surprising if we end up with the winner of an all MVFC match up. 4 of the 5 MVFC teams on the same side of the bracket is ridiculous.

It is the NCAA tournament not the MVFC/NCAA tournament. Make the rules on how the NCAA tournament is to be run and stick to it. The tournament has a regional element to it (similar to IHSA) so why would it be surprising if MVFC teams often play each other especially in the opening rounds when regionalization will have a greater impact on the likelihood of conference teams playing each... remember conferences tend to be based upon geography. The MVC season is over once the last conference game has been played. It is absurd for teams and their fans in any conference to think they and their conference mates should not have to play each other in a national tournament UNLESS that is part of the national tournament rules.

IHSA seems to do a good job with conference match ups in post season. And IHSA takes it a step further by dealing well with the separation of enrollments in the class system.

FCS NCAA...if the rankings could be more legit and reflect on who is better than the other no matter the conference...then I could accept the NCAA choices. BUT...it is not happening.

It has been nice how FCS articles via FB are being shared. Once FB started to be used by the NCAA for reporting FCS level football then this is really the first attempt that I have seen which shows NCAA actually supporting FCS schools. THEN why are all of the top 5 FCS plays of each week very inclusive of the eastern USA conferences and very very rarely having a MVFC play or plays from even conferences further west?

NCAA football has 4 different divisions from which a university can participate in or attempt to participate in. There is so little meaningful cross over of FCS football games played between the east, midwest, and west coast teams that the rankings are difficult. Fans tend to blame the conference commissioner for anything they don't like (ie who to add or not to add to the conference) and most often the commissioner has no power as it is the member institutions that collectively choose. However the day to day marketing of the conference to maximize exposure falls right in the lap of MVC conference administration. I have heard the MVC and MVFC commissioner speak (video or on tv) a couple of times each and truly is it surprising their marketing activities or promotional activities are weak? They both sound like a couple of hillbillies...esp Elgin. They should be very visible promoting the conferences and marketing the conferences after getting direction annually from their member institutions. So I would blame the MVFC on the overall failure of top plays not being shown as well as each school for failing to promote themselves.

Tnx, ChiRedbirdFan. Definitely...WHAT MVFC reporting? I wonder what sources of $$ exists for this conference visibility?

And I am surprised that the lack of marketing of the MVFC exists when such a Athletic Marketing expert that rec'd her degree from NIU is the league commissioner. What would Patty do to get more press for the MVFC?

You can't play someone from your conference in the first round UNLESS you didn't play them during the regular season. SIU and UNI did not play this season.

400 miles is a bus trip. Selection committee prefers bus trips to airplane trips. Cheap you know what's....

Our game at YSU is very interesting for the play-offs. We have a good showing and we really should be a top 8 seed. But if we struggle, which is entirely possible given our injuries at key positions, we could be demoted to the first round.

The AD from Mo State is on the selection committee. I don't think that helps our chances based on what happened this past Saturday vs the Bears.

Would be super nice if we went into Youngstown and won by double digits and got the much needed seed and bye that goes with it. Weather looks so so. So maybe the running game can carry us!

Get it done boys!

I really don't think any AD from a MVFC would want to hurt another MVFC school. I believe he is going to talk us and if we win Saturday we are for sure getting a bye. I am crossing my fingers at the 6th seed. I believe we can make our deepest run from that spot.

I think he says it like it is. Let's be honest, his 1-9 Bears were 3 yards from beating us on our Senior Day. Can't sugar coat that. Mo State hasn't been within 20 points of anyone in their last 5 games (@ SIU, Vs SDSU, Vs UNI, @ NDSU, Vs South Dakota).

Will certainly be interesting.

Well, he might be fair and also take into account that they got two picks from two very inexperienced rookie QB's to keep them in the game. Maybe not.

But I don't disagree with the basic issue cpacmel - we shot ourselves in the foot with that game, other than showing off our red zone D.

top 8 is fine, but no way UCA is #5 over teams like Mont St or even Villanova ... all are 9-3, and Mont St clearly has best resume and toughest SOS .. then Villanova coming from Colonial, then maybe UNI or UCA.
