Sorry to say, Pack release James from their practice squad.
Crap .. sorry to hear this. JR has proved himself plenty, but his career was certainly curtailed quickly, first by Urban Meyer and then by injuries. Just a shame it was cut short .. hoping this isn't the end of line for him. But if it is, he is eligible for pension by virtue of his 3 seasons with Stats in 3+ games. It doesn't look like he earned a credit for this season .. he would need 8 games on practice squad, and he only has 3 so far. he would need to be signed for 5 more this season.

Dude was such a great player and so humble.

How do you earn a Credited Season?

As an active player you earn a credited season if you are on the active, inactive, IR or PUP roster for 3 or more regular or post-season NFL games, per plan year.

  • Additional ways you can earn a credited season:
  • Injury – if you are released injured and receive an injury settlement or grievance for the equivalent of 3 or more regular seasons games, you receive a credit for that season.
  • Practice Squad – if you are already vested (as described above) and were on the practice squad for at least 8 games in a season, you can earn a credit for that season. You can only earn this credit once.
  • Years of Service – if immediately before or after being an active player, you become an employee of an NFL team (example – practice squad before or coach after) and work at least 1,000 hours (during the plan year), you can earn a credited season. Note – this can’t be in the same year you earn an active player credit.

Mr. Robinson re-signed to Packer practice squad! Hopefully he gets some game chances down the stretch.
With all three of their backs on the injury report, I'm hoping he gets the call up this week. We saw Jones and Wilson get hurt during the game but Dillon is now listed with a groin injury. All are questionable. No way Jones and Wilson go.

so here is Packers depth chart for today .. red means out, yellow means expected to play .. but probs not 100% I assume. JR should get some reps ... Packers throw more than run. And JR is a very good pass blocker and catcher out of backfield ... look for #3. Announcers just talked about him.

It's the pro ball yo-yo --- Mr. Robinson cut again by Pack, possibly will be signed again to practice squad, but has to clear waivers first.

From the former ISU opponents department:

Reading about the passing of Mr. Mark Kellar, great running back from the NIU Huskies. Kellar ran for 246 yards at Hancock Stadium in 1973 vs. the Birds. Pretty sure I was a witness, as probably were some of you. He was built like the proverbial brick craphouse. Quite the player back in the day.
