With the Patriots releasing free-agent addition James Robinson, who is the next man up behind Rhamondre Stevenson in the Pats backfield?

Although it was only a few OTA practices, Robinson's lack of explosiveness was noticeable, with his extra gear waning since a severe Achilles injury ended his 2021 season. Robinson returned last season but was traded by the Jaguars to the Jets and then released by New York.
Unfortunately, Achilles injuries are often a challenging recovery for running backs, so it's not surprising that Robinson isn't returning to his pre-Achilles tear form as an NFL All-Rookie first-team honoree in the 2020 season.

that is really sad to hear for him .. so much hard work, talent and vision. Hope he gets one more shot, but unfortunatley this doesn't leave an impression that will get him another shot. He was the talk of the league his first 2 years.

Sad if this is the end of his NFL career. Serious injuries have ended many an NFL career but JR proved his capability when healthy. I wish him the best.

For anyone bored with life in the middle of summer, Canadian Football League on CBS Sports tonight at 6pm features the Ottawa RedBlacks vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and former Redbird DeAndre Lamont is in the DB for Ottawa.

In a related matter, I told Mrs. MadBird last week I was switching from the White Sox to the CFL for the rest of the year, but today that's not necessary since the Sox are trying their damnedest to lose to the Cards this afternoon. :mad:

For your viewing pleasure tonight, Tre Roberson and the Calgary Stampeders take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 6pm tonight on ESPN. Tre starts at CB for the Stamps, altho his stats this year aren't all that impressive. Less impressive than previous years.

Saquon signing for 1 year 11 mil will definitely impact the touches JR gets. I'm guessing the Giants are going to run the heck out of Barkley and make him earn the extra 900k he's getting by not getting tagged.

@fourthandshort I saw yesterday the Bills just picked up another TE with former Packer Jace Sternberger. That room might start to get a little crowded.
