I don't think Finke would be a dude here.

Only if he permanently gets rid of the man bun.

Yeah, we will wait a few more years until David is a senior! We really lack the big!

With our schedule next year, hopefully we are in a position where we aren’t feeling the pressure of having to win in St. Louis to get in the tournament. Would be cool to get some big wins early and work our way toward the top 25. I really believe we have the talent for that given a good offseason and avoiding the injury bug.

A little early to be hitting the sauce, isn't it?

:text-+1: I guess shoot for the stars but top 25 when we currently have no game ready PG, sorley need another big and we are thin on the bench.

I have seen nothing, and I mean nothing, that makes me think this team will sniff the top 50 next year, let alone the top 25.
In typical Redbird fan fashion, we're banking on a bunch of unknowns to carry us to the NCAA. Not from Missouri, but I'll believe it when I see it.

List of Mark Smith suitors during recruiting process from Belleville Democrat News.

Smith chose Illinois over Michigan State, Kentucky and Ohio State.

Smith also had offers from Indiana, Kansas State, Missouri, Butler, Nebraska, Texas, Northwestern, California, DePaul, Utah, Boston College and Georgia Tech and many mid-majors, but selected the Illini and new coach Brad Underwood, who was hired after just one season at Oklahoma State.

Read more here: http://www.bnd.com/sports/college/article203546009.html#storylink=cpy

If he didn't pass muster at Illinois, would think a lot of these others wouldn't be good landing spots either. We certainly need a point guard.

Looking for the right system and better fit ..... https://www.thetelegraph.com/sports/article/COLLEGE-MEN-8217-S-BASKETBALL-12729192.php
Sounds like the next Rich Beyers. He should dominate here too
Possibly, but would take my chances on a 4A Mr. Basketball over a Shelbyville big.

I don't mean this badly but it's hard to get excited about next season when we keep coming in 2nd.
2018- lost by 16
2017- lost by 20
2015- lost by 9
2012- lost by 4 in OT
2009- lost by 3
2008- lost by 30

I am tired of having my hopes squashed. I didn't even follow the team this year. I didn't watch any of the tournament this year until yesterday. If that makes me a bad fan so be it- but to be 0-6 in the title game since 97 sucks. Sadly the teams that Jank had back in 08, 09, and 12 would have run circles around Loyola. We don't have Creighton and Wich St in front of us anymore. I like DM and he's gotten us to the title game 3 out of the last 4 years and he should be recognized for that- but I don't feel like the program has really grown during his time. Sorry to vent- but I'm running out of patience.

I understand this- but I can't get behind it. Find another CBB that has lost their last 6 appearances to the their conference tournament game, especially with the trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.

Just seems like useless babble, gossip and rumor to me -- speculation on players leaving. We seem to have a lot of this here. All season long.

This will be a 25 win team next year. I trust that means they will get top 50 at least

Watch the Barry Hinson post game presser after our game down there in St Louis. He expects us to be number 1 next year. Turns out coaches see something in our guys.

Look at what Muller did with Hein to get him from where he was a year ago. The guy can coach and develop. Crazy to think that these guys won't get better. Clint me in the group that sees big things for these birds next year. Copeland has been dominating in practice. Get Evans healthy and he will be fine. After the Friday game that guy didn't have any legs left. Madison has been dealing with some knee issues. Not sure it will ever get better but should be able to better manage his minutes next year with Copeland and Clarence.

Key was definitely not himself after the ankle injury Friday. Madison was not the same p!ayer he was after he missed games with his injury.

Helps that he was going up against P Lee. Just sayin.

Anybody remember what Muller said mid season about the practice squad?

Imagine following Evansville. ;)

I am excited about next years team, and I think the glass if half full. Hoping Basketball IQ jumps a few points though.
Milik: says he is back
Evans: healthy
Fayne: +20 lbs
King David: + 20 lbs - last year a difference maker by seasons end, don't know what happened this year
Copeland - Muller on record saying he has often been the best player in practice
Tinsley: + confidence
Chastain has some game
Clarence: from the start, and has 7 months to work on defense
Hein: If he improves as much from this year to next as he did from last year to this one, could be interesting.
Williams: I think he is what he is
Bruninga: Not sure
Gassman: Not sure.
New guys: No idea.

I am not sure David, or even Fayne, have a frame to even gain 20 more pounds. David is pretty ripped in his arms/chest but guys with that frame can’t just “get bigger”. He had skinny ass legs and that’ll never change with his body type. I’m sure he can put in more muscle, but I don’t think 20 lbs is feasible. Guys like Shaq Morris and Isaac Haas (Purdue) are just built that way. They’ve always had the body type to be able to put on more and more bulk and muscle. Not David, or Fayne IMO.

I agree. Maybe Rey will balance some of that out.

I absolutely love big boys who know how to leverage that body. Just so much fun watching smart players, ala Morris...the big boy from Gazonga last year...or even Krutnut, I mean, Krutwig.

And Krutwig will never be able to jump over a phonebook or pass up a triple cheezboiger. Just need to play him smarter and faster

You typically don't see that as much with a coach taking his team to their first big dance in his time their. Unfortunately, I think they're both sticking around.

It happens. Bender went from ISU to Washington after taking the Birds to the NIT. His sole NCAA was by getting to host the last MVC tourney held on campus and not St. Louis three seasons earlier. He never even had a 20-win season.
