On my FGCU season tickets it says what color to wear. Every game is some sort of color with special fundraising red and pink for heart and cancer nights. Of course FGCU has several different colors in their uniforms and also no one has to wear sweaters!!

Ya know, truth is fine. But very often with the DD's here, it's speculation just to put the program down that often turns out not to be right, and isn't right from the beginning. Like the way low attendance guesses for the Lindenwood game. Like the speculation that a new recruit won't be good. Really does every single discussion have to be infected with a dose of negativity?

Just looking at the discussions, We have somebody starting a fire the coach discussion. We have another asking if the athletics department will fail. And the before mentioned recruit discussion where a poster put the kid down months before he will even be here. Imagine for just a minute a potential recruit visiting this site. Or his or her parents. If they see some the fans of a partisan message board going out of their way to put the program down in so many discussions, why should they care about out team? The snarky, bitter, very often way off base little slams don't bring anything to the discussion, I think it's nothing but petty, insensitive stuff

Just get some cardboard cut outs of peoples faces to fill in those seats and it just may work!

And young Baker haircut looks to be a very good player. He is going to be a load for us for the next 4 years.

I think Loyola is in trouble. Nevada is going to be hungry to get revenge for last year. Will be excited to watch this one. The MVC is desperate for a quality win.

The Gentile Center is ready to go. Maroon and Gold T-Shirts for the fans tonight.

THAT is freaking cool! It's going to look awesome on TV.

Or not. Damn non-conformist fans.

Pretty good environment in their gym tonight, when they get close to a sellout it’s a great home court advantage. Some of my takeaways from just this game:

-why can Loyola sell beer at their games and we can’t? Public school thing?

-Martin brothers are huge in person, matchup nightmare

-Loyola doesn’t appear to be very deep, Kaifes off the bench looks to be solid (great shooter) but besides that not much else

-Krutwig missed lots of short jump hooks he usually makes

-slow down Townes and Custer and they have a real hard time scoring

-Loyola keeps coming at you for a full 40 minutes no matter how far down they are. Can’t have any lapses

-I think we will be better than them but I guess we will find out.

Offer free tickets to any ex or current player that bounced us from St Louis. That will fill up the lower bowl...

Could not agree more about the Martin Bros. Long and talented on both ends of the floor and they play hard. They were fun to watch. Nevada looked good and was playing in a tough environment. Nevada jumping out early was big for them as it kept an amped up environment in tack for much of the game. As stated Loyola did not quit and Loyola will defend their home court well come MVC time.

Loyola bench did not play well but believe Loyola bench may be slightly stronger/deeper than ISU bench....part of that being that they have more options with ISU only having 10 available, and now 9 with Hein out. Was expecting more out of Uguak but he did not look good. Negron was another non-performer tonight.

We choose not too. SIU does by the way.

ISU is a Dry Campus and Redbird arena is technically on campus so they can’t sell alc

Hmmm, I’ve bought beer at the Redbird Room and at the Club at Hancock.

A few years ago the State of Illinois lifted any ordinance on selling booze. ISU chooses not to. SIU started in 2017.

In 2016, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed legislation that allows Illinois colleges and universities to sell alcohol at campus events. Booze has long been available at Bradley University men's basketball games, but that's because they're played at the Peoria Civic Center, not on campus.

I believe alcohol sales is something He Who Should Not Be Named (Lyons) is strongly considering.

Also - I noticed Nevada worked to keep Krutwig out of the paint. He looked like a fish out of water out there. Is that what it takes?

I kind of noticed this too. From what I saw, they were fronting him more than keeping him completely out. He got close to the basket and missed six shots he made nine times out of ten.

I realize Loyola was playing one of the best teams in the country, but they looked very beatable. Townes is the one that kept them a float last night, while Custer had a bad shooting night. Kaifes needs to realize if he wants to be well precieved in the MVC, he needs to cut his hair. There is a pretty negative connotation with a hair do like that.

This was my first time watching Loyola start to finish this year, but their fans have really praised the transfer from New Mexico, Uguak but I didn't really see anything from him. He only played 11 minutes had two points, fouls, turnovers, and rebounds.

The other notable thing is that despite virtually being out of the game from the tipoff, Loyola didn't play that way. They played hard, and competed for 40 full minutes. I believe they cut it to 12 a few times and then missed shots to make it a single digit game. Had you not looked at the scoreboard, given Loyola's complete game effort, you might think they were only down five or even winning. That is the mindset of a successful team, despite the loss.

Our team competes for what? Maybe 25-30 minutes per game? When the Loyola match-up comes, I could see us taking a 10 point lead (after a slow start) and then playing our typical relaxed stuff, and losing by 15.

Lastly, I'm bummed of the camera angles and of the Loyola fan base as a whole. The camera angle should have been on the other side of the court so you could see what was reported to be a packed student section. Instead, you saw several empty seats and a bunch of fans not participating in the free shirt giveaway. I know there is nothing to be done about the cameras but how wasn't this game a sell out? Say what you will about our attendance, but if we had the No. 5 team in the country here, we would have at least 8000 and the lower bowl wouldn't have an empty seat. They reported a sell out (4,963), but no way. There were at least a 100 empty seats on camera.

Ranked opponent attendance at Redbird (since 2010-11 season)
Wed, Dec 1, 2010- No.23 UNLV - 6,485
Fri, Jan 13, 2012- No. 13 Creighton - 8,771
Wed, Feb 22, 2012- No. 19 Wichita State - 4,573
Wed, Jan 2, 2013 - No. 16 Creighton - 8,813
Sat, Dec 7, 2013 - No. 25 Dayton - 6,697
Wed, Jan 22, 2014 - No. 4 Wichita State - 9,510
Sun, Jan 25, 2015 - No. 19 Northern Iowa - 6,118
Sat, Feb 14, 2015 - No. 13 Wichita State - 9,345
Sat, Feb 6, 2016 - No. 21 Wichita State - 8,284 (9 P.M. START)

We've done pretty okay when ranked opponents come into Redbird. Not good enough, but all but one was over the reported Loyola sell out that wasn't. Also, really depressing we lost most of these games.

Hancock is on campus, and they have beer for sale at the Taste of the Redbirds event.

Touchdown Terrace sells beer during football games.

Are those areas considered free trade zones or something? :D
