Muller went for quite a few reclamation projects and, in my opinion, they did not work out. I would like freshman or transfers with at least 2 years left and a solid history. We will see what our new coach does very soon. Exciting time to be a REDBIRD. I hope I am still saying that next March.
I was talking about this with some buddies last night regarding Andrews. Muller was clear that he was brought in as a high potential guy, a project. Muller's recruited a ton of guys like that. I don't expect Pedon to want to necessarily retain any of the "projects." Think about if you are buying a house and the seller is partially done with renovating the master bedroom. Are you going to buy the house, knowing one of the first things you'll have to do is work a project that you may not have wanted to start in the first place?

Alston has size that would be really successful in the MVC. Wouldn't at all surprise me to see him be successful in the south/around Florida type of conference (MEAC, ASUN, Big South, Southern, Southland, SWAC). I could see Emon having a similar trajectory, though I think he could really be turned into an elite defender because of his athleticism.

Emon surprised me. So much talent but previous staff couldn't seem to two into it. I thought he played well when pushed into service at Wisconsin. I could see Pedon retaining him if he thinks he can get that talent out. Emon seemed to be in the dog house this year for some reason.

Emon is a good athlete. Needs work on the fundamentals. Use his off hand around the basket. Tinsley was a good athlete, but was one dimensional on offense and never fully used his athleticism. However, isn't he playing overseas?

Agreed that Emon needs to work on fundamental I just think with his body and athleticism, he could become an elite defender and guard 1-4, similar to Howie. Tinsley was a shooter for sure and a good athlete but I don't recall much of that athleticism translating to the defensive end.

Tinsley is back in BN again, I believe he was in Indonesia a few weeks ago and their season got shut down by COVID. He's going to keep getting opportunities. Big body and not giving up the dream of playing pro ball.

I can't find a coaching changes thread. Chris Jans transferred from New Mexico St to Mississippi St.

Heading into final four weekend things will be in full swing. Buckle up. Carousel will slow a bit and names will enter en masse.

Now that the HC will be in the office, players can start entering the portal after chatting as a courtesy. No need to burn bridges.

Well, there has been someone in the athletic department tracking which players have been working out and which ones have not shown up for Coach Pedon. That could be telling as well. Time will tell.

or just work really hard with your own team at practice every day. Make yourself good enough to help out your program when you are an upperclassman. That thought process has all but disappeared with many college players.

A lost art, like the midrange jumper or using the glass

I think we have all been preparing for this so it isn't as shocking as I thought it was going to be. More Pedon needs to go get guys that for his system and his culture. I am sure it was an eye opening experiment having someone watch who was and wasn't working out.

Really disappointed in this. I wish nothing but the best for Tone. I think Tone is a quality person and was hoping he would have been able to say ”always a Redbird“ and finish off a senior season to remember. We live in the grass is always greener world now with major support from the NCAA transfer portal.

Any NIL donors willing to incentivize his decision? This forum has had many people bragging or complaining (I have never been able to ascertain which one) of how they have held back their largesse to ISU so maybe with the new coaching era and a fresh change of heart that we have the dollars for something like this.
