Money talks bullshit walks.
yet we spend more overall than any of the listed, except maybe mo state. yes i know not a true apples to apples comparison with the privates but they are a good example of spend money where it matters. the world of how to compete overall in college athletics has always been gradually evolving along with some seismic changes along the way too...ie title IX, shoe/apparel sponsorships, online streaming/viewership, conference realignments, NIL..etc. ISU's overall long term athletic strategy needs a major overhaul, imo, which will then drive many significant individual sport changes including even eliminating some sports as well as enhanced funding for some others. timmy's chart and comment is a great example of why we need a strategic overhaul of ISU athletics. seriously, why do we get out spent by several lower overall athletic department budgets on one of the main sports where the university side can benefit tremendously from the enhanced exposure/name recognition? we got to stop doing the same historic strategies/tactics over and over in today's dramatically different landscape. we need to become more successful where it matters and, i believe, the good news is foundation already exists to be successful

btw seeing that info drives me irate when factoring university profile/overall athletic department revenue. WTF!!!!

I have always believed you have to spend money to make money. The shipwreck that is ISU basketball has cost the Athletic Dept. thousands in ticket revenue over the years. At ISU basketball stirs the drink. If basketball draws every other sport prospers. I was really disapointed in those numbars

Are you taking football out? Because not every one has football and that is a major resource hog.

What all do these budgets include? For example, does the budget include Bradley University payments to Peoria Civic Center for the use of their facility? Might be hard for an apples to apples comparison.
