Madison played in a lot of pain this year. Kudos to him playing hard until his knees said no more. Some need to get off Hein's back. Kid stepped up and played his ass off. Got the most out of his athletic ability. Not his fault we lost 5 players from last year's team, 3 coaches, and numerous injuries to players in front of him. Hopefully, this year he will won't have to play extended minutes. He is obviously a player that can help the younger players learn the offensive and defensive schemes.

Best of luck, Madison. I wonder how good you could have been without the chronic knee pain.

Ugh.

Madison was a throwback to the Paris Lee / T Wills years of defense. Best defender on our roster IMO.

Best of luck to Madison.

Can he still be around the team and act as a manager or in a similar role in the program?Just curious what the ncaa allows with this exemption.

Yes. Just can't play in a game. Many kids in this situation take on a role of a student "coach".

Sad news for Madison. He'll be missed. Looked like things were clicking for him this year too, so this is a bummer.

Kinda goes against the whole "Dan runs kids off" stigma people throw out eh?

Sometimes... there's things going on the casual fan doesn't see........ keep that in mind.
MW’s knee issue and future as a result had been well chronicled. This is just the rumor becoming reality. What didn’t the casual fan see?

I’m not worried about losing MW’s defensive presence. I’m assuming Copeland and Jefferson can play some D. All our one trick pony players were the only reason MW saw any PT anyway. If we haven’t moved to a multi skilled roster of players, then his exodus really isn’t important anyway. Time will tell.

Best of luck to Madison.

Wouldn't expect anything less.

I'm talking in generalities. There are things behind the scenes that go on that most dont know about. This one was documented throughout the season, but other issues aren't.

You don't need to turn everything into a debate. Chill.

I hope he does this if he wants. He deserves being around for all this.

I don't think anybody would have guessed, unless you were a part of the team on a day to day basis, that his knee issues would cost him a career. I knew he had knee problems, but not to this point. Only started hearing rumblings of him not playing just over last couple months.

We WILL miss his defensive priority.

Not on Hein’s back. Just being realistic. Yes, he played hard and helped the team. But he only played because there was no other option. If he wants to play a limited role, then stay. If he wants to start on a team and get significant minutes, then it would be wise for him to go where there is that opportunity.

If someone didn’t see this coming from a mile away, they weren’t paying attention. Not debating anything.

Wait! Did our managers just outrecruit Dan so they could win another championship? Was MW promised all the grape Gatorade he could drink?

Tired of it!

The I'm cooler than you because I have insider information mentality of this board is really pathetic. And, yet it keeps going.

If you truly have insider information that you can't talk about then keep it to yourself and STFU because you're not supposed to be talking about it. In 99% of the cases there is no insider information youre just being a lonely pathetic guy behind a computer.
