I don't how so many of you can be comfortable with mediocrity.

Because without P5 TV money, it doesn't matter. We will never have the consistent level of a top tier team. Can we break the glass ceiling once in a while? Sure. Make the tournament as a bottom 8 seed, get trounced first weekend, move on. Then back to not making it.

At some point you have to accept the hand dealt to you. You can argue how ISU missed the boat, should have been FBS football, etc. But right now, in 2018 without basically tearing down and starting over we are what we are.

That is so defeatist, poor us. No you can't be final four threats consistently, but what about a team like Belmont? Are they in a P5? 4 NCAA and 3 NIT in 9 years? We can't match an OVC team?

But that's my point. I think people want to do more than make the tournament, no? So we make the tournament and get blown out by Arizona. Do we care? Ok the first time or two cool. After a while though....will any one care?

I agree. Dan lost this team. There is a disconnect. They don't fight for him..they don't play hard...they look like poor defending robots.

And this new coach Chris?? Isnt he a guard coach?? He's doing a horrible job! Our guards get best on defense everytime! And according to my family who have attended some games he's rude!

I think Duhon is here to pretty much repair his reputation and leave as soon as possible. He needed a second chance. He doesn't even seem to care when he's on the bench. Maybe he just doesn't show it, but looks like he's just here to be here.

You have to start somewhere! If you don’t have a goal of making the tournament then why play the game!

Throughout the rest of the non conference schedule i see 3 wins. this team will be 4-9 going into the conference season. Maybe 5-8 if they're lucky. Could be as bad as 3-10, however. In no way is this acceptable. Change simply has to be made and they have to do it by whatever means necessary. i hope im wrong and they get it together but theyre not beating BYU, SDSU, or UCF for sure.

If I remember his contract correctly, Dan has several more years of guaranteed money. With the current budgets, ISU is not in a place to be paying two coaches at once. IMO, He is not being fired.

Is it Dan's fault Key shoots air balls on open 3's or banks layups without hitting the rim? Last year at the time Key was averaging about 25 PPG and looked like the real deal.

Okay, this should be the prerequisite for ANY thread that involves a coaching change.

A- Provide a list of coaches who are immediately available to better coach this team at equal or less salary than Coach Muller complete with career resume included.

B- Provide the timetable window you will give them for a rebuild (In this case, a re-build will require all of you huffing for a new coach to be okay with and accepting of no less than 2 seasons of 10 total wins or less)

C- Provide a list of available prospective players you feel would come fill in for Copeland, Jefferson and Rey- who you will lose without HCDM- for the next season and beyond.


If you can't provide all of those things (yes, all of them), then keep your "my friend says its time for a new coach" gumflapping to a minimum. You are not providing answers, just shooting from the hip with hyperbole.

ISU lost today because they were HYPED to start the game and immediately were saddled with a 4 minute pause, a flagrant, credit for a basket (that would not have gone in) and 4 additional points against. Throws the whole gameplan off when that happens.

Now, I agree, you have to win in STL to make the show this year. The loss to Belmont was fine, the loss to Georgia was fine, but you have to win one of them. Both of them together change the way you have to plan the rest of the season out.

If we can’t raise enough funds to get anywhere close to a pared down, simple indoor, nor buy out a WBB coach for $250k, I do not think we will have millions of dollars available to buy out Dan at this point.

Whether we schedule weak or schedule aggressive, we have not won enough of the key games to get an at-large. Whatever we have to do to get this team ready for three games in March is what needs to be done barring winning near every game remaining on our schedule.

It is all about the culture here. Saying the right things....doing the right things on and off the court. When things become an embarrasment due to poor culture you know the axe needs to come down on SOMEONE. There needs to be a scalp (not literally of course!). My friend Tom K. told me the intangibles matter ALOT when evaluating players. So if you do not have 4 and five star talent you have to have the intangibles. A coach has the responsibility to recruit these character traits!

So my suggestion is to lets please use this time to seriously evaluate our options. The administration needs to act or should be stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey to be eaten by all us die hard RedBird fans! Tax payer dollars going to this nightmare!

No I love the Redbirds but I'm not content with what I see. I'm not a sheep that will just go along with whatever. That's the problem.
