I really look forward to the lowered capacity once the lower bowl seats get replaced

Why? They will still have the same amount of empty seats with tickets that departments dont use.

Overall less though. Say if it goes from holding 10,000 to holding 8,000 (just for example, I do not expect there to be that significant of a drop) and average an attendance of 5500, then instead of 4500 empty seats, there are 2500 empty. Better optics.

Except more in the lower bowl because less seats but smae amount of empty seats

Now did they order any matching merchandise to market at the game .... that would potentially be cool. I know we are much smaller, but NFL has alternative jersey and related merchandise sales down to a science.

Also, did anyone notice or see on the scoreboard Saturday a potential promotion .... it looks like there will be a Bobble head day at the Ole Miss game but just saw a glimpse of it so I may be wrong here.

I know some of these things may not be executed flawlessly, but I am going to give the department some props for thinking and marketing a little bit different.

1. Mix and Match individual game tickets in upper bowl for 99 I think was good
2. Hardly normal theme I think is good
3. Having folks at exhibition basketball and free ticket to UNI volleyball game was a good idea that needed to be promoted more and better ticket exchange execution. It was still a good idea.
4. Social media day for Ole Miss has potential .. maybe a bobblehead
5. Alternative jerseys can be good
6. Red Alert and MBB promotion using teams/players in videos to promote games/events seems better albeit may too early to tell
7. Damn good picture of Phil on MBB poster
8. Season ticket distribution and late start on individual game sales ... not good
9. Let's hope the hype video is A1

There seems to be a concerted effort to be a little more creative ... I hope they keep it up and it should pay dividends.

Looks like they are off white/cream colored. They look awesome!

Totally agreed about those dark gray/pewter ones. They were awesome too but we never won in them.

Grey/Silver is bad luck. I will call it off white no matter what is the actual color. I love the look of those.

Sorry, didn't realize the discussion was in here. I don't like the font at all, and if they're going that light, might as well be just the whites.

Give me block lettering, something bold. Color me unimpressed unfortunately.

One thing I've noticed is we seem to have gone away from any uniform that says Illinois State. I think everything says Redbirds now.

Road uniforms typically say the school name (Illinois State) while home and alternates will be some variation of the mascot (Redbirds).

I think they did a great job. Not too flashy but different. These are easily in my top five uniforms the Birds have ever had.

The other thing to remember is they're "just" alternates, so we will only see them a few times per year. The new regular uniforms are pretty slick with the horizontal stripes along the side...that looks like of like a throwback to the 90's.
