I hope they execute this better than the free entrance with a basketball ticket promotion at the Volleyball game.

They announce at the basketball game you get in free to volleyball with your Augustana ticket. I show up 5 mins before the match thinking I will be able to walk in. At the main entrance I see a big line at the one ticket window open and I was thinking there are a lot off people buying tickets, which is great. Go in to the arena and they tell me I have to go back and stand in that line to exchange my basketball ticket for a volleyball ticket.

The people in line miss the start of an incredibly exciting match and some people just gave up and went home. Only at isu can they anger people or have them go home before a big event. This athletic department is becoming incredibly frustrating.

I feared that would be the issue. Is it really that important to know how many fans are there that you need them to scan a new ticket.

Or communicate to people in advance. You could have announced how it was going to work at the basketball game, on twitter, Facebook, etc so you can plan for it. I would have been there earlier had I known what was needed to be done.

Also, there are better ways to exchange the basketball tickets instead of having one ticket window for all tickets. You had people buying tickets mixed in with people exchanging tickets. Plus, they were printing each ticket exchanged individually as you got there instead of having tickets pre-printed.

This is the same ticket office that effed up season tickets until just a week ago. ARe we really surprised by this? The ticket department is completely inept and that's generous.

Nothing surprises me anymore in the Lyons family athletic department.

And I know 2/3’s of the family have left, but they just moved up the people below them on the organizational chart to pretty much carry on their work.

Hope they pull the Hardly Normal activities off.

The description of the Volleyball debacle was accurate and the trials and tribulations of the clear bag policy continue. People did leave when they arrived and witnessed the line standing outside in the rain, while a half-dozen ticket takers stood and looked out the doors , because everyone with basketball tickets had to go to the two person ticket window for exchange. Along with them in line were many folks who were wanting to attend for the first time or in a long time. No umbrellas allowed so some folks stood in the
rain and others just went home, and then of course but some folks with tickets got in with umbrellas???
There appears to be no customer service mentality to the fans. Good ideas end up leaving a bad impression. A great product on the court needs to be matched by that of game management.

Who cares if fans stand in freezing rain?? Our athletic administration were comfortable in their nice suits doing nothing.

ISU has a huge staff of athletic administration that their only job appears to be shaking hands of “big time” donors (who don’t give any large amounts of money). Instead of solving problems like a huge line or fixing the clear bag policy.

The clear bag thing is an issue everywhere, but ISU should decide if it’s going to enforce it or not? Don’t pick and choose who has to follow the rules. My opinion is to get rid of it, anyone that wants to bring something dangerous in is going to find a way.

Any leak of the new jerseys yet?

"Not black" is what I've been told. I assume a silver/grey color. But wouldn't be shocked if some yellow was thrown in. I created some alt jerseys several years ago that included yellow around the neck to represent "Reggie's beak."

Ill be really annoyed if the student section isn't completely packed. I'm holding out hope for 7,000 strong. But, I'm expecting 5,500.

You should see how many tickets are left for the Loyola game. A ton. Almost whole upper bowl sections.

Ya virtually all of the tickets that are sold are season ticket holders or people that bought the 3 pack. Very little has been sold (for any game) since tickets went onsale to the public.

I really look forward to the lowered capacity once the lower bowl seats get replaced

Why? They will still have the same amount of empty seats with tickets that departments dont use.

The shame of lowering the capacity in the lower bowl is you have less of the good seats available and still stuck with too many seats in the upper bowl. I will be very curious how the renovation turns out.

The corporate and university seats are awful. They should either make those people give back their tickets they don't use or have someone move down and fill those seats.

What are they down to for season tickets sold when you take out all the giveaways? 2,000 to 2,500 season tickets sold?

Overall less though. Say if it goes from holding 10,000 to holding 8,000 (just for example, I do not expect there to be that significant of a drop) and average an attendance of 5500, then instead of 4500 empty seats, there are 2500 empty. Better optics.
