This list of shit is insane. I can't say I'm surprised because Gregg has always been such a...stand up guy, but dude is physically assaulting players. The story about the parking spot and punching a college kid over it was absolutely off the wall. What adult punches someone over a parking spot?

I do not think we will see this guy again. There are accusations by THIRTY former players. I think Greg might be in charge of an AAU program in a few years, but college ball- he's done with.
Sorta like Knight? Somebody will take a chance on him when they're desperate enough . . .

Hopefully that’s enough money to take the wife and go a long way away and ride into the sunset in Sri Lanka or somewhere.

I can see him going to some therapy, anger mgmt courses. I think he'll have to prove he's actually a changed person, which isn't impossible to do. I say he's back somewhere in a few years. It's time for him to look in the mirror though and face reality. Nobody would want the current version of him (or his wife).

You're underestimating the impact of high profile college sports. With a year out and some anger classes he will get a P5+BE job within the next 18 months if not by April when the next round of hirings occurs. He won't be slapped with a show cause penalty because this isn't an NCAA investigation so they will have very little reason not to hire him besides a brief blowback from a small faction of fans that will get over it as soon as he has them 8-2.

They seemed like a better program before they left the valley. I kinda thought they'd do better after they left.

They were a better program before they left the Valley. But they went for the greed and its burning them BIG TIME.

I don't blame them for wanting to make a move, and the AAC looked promising at first, but they're quickly learning they're not the BMOC over there, and the grass wasn't completely as green on that side as they thought.

Sprinkle in a coach who's a complete lunatic, a program that looked away too long, and now the bigger schools than Wichita wanting to abandon ship on the conference and you have the mess they're in.

I didn't forsee ALL of this... but I knew their time was coming. They don't have the pull nationally they thought they did.

Will Thad Matta come out retirement?
I grew up a Buckeye fan (they've been relegated to my 2nd team since I went to ISU)...Thad is a major hothead and pretty tough on his players. Not sure this would be the right fit to show that the administration has gotten the message.

The Big "12" is definitely in need of some help. I could see Houston, Memphis, and Cincy all there within the next 5 years or so. As it's been discussed before, a "strong" basketball program is not enough to make a move. You need football working first and have an adequate basketball program. All three of these teams have been in the top 25 of both sports over the past couple of years.

The AAC is going to become the old Conference USA pretty quickly. They'll probably pick off a couple other lower level schools to keep it a float but it won't be what it was a few years back when they sent 3-4 teams to the tournament.

We can get into a whole seperate thread about conferences.

Any school not in a P5+BE wants to move up (Maryland, Missouri and Nebraska showed that even within the P5 there are tiers). The only point that really matters in a school moving up is a conference has to want you (see Rutgers). The entirety of the AAC WANTS to move up, but one of the P5+BE has to WANT (more like NEED) them. Creighton and Wichita State got their calls because the (new) Big East and AAC, respectiviely, felt the need to add men's basketball programs AT THAT EXACT moment that had both some cache' and were winning.

If ISU had been in the same position I doubt they would have said "nah, we're good ... this conference may have issues in fifteen years".

The Big Twelve does what Texas (and to a lesser extent, Oklahoma) wants them to do. At this point they do not see a reason to add schools because, in their perception, they would not increase their brand or revenue stream per school above where it currently stands.

The only reason the current Big 12 takes on new members is should someone defect, and if that one is either Oklahoma or Texas (or both) then what you are left with the likes of an AAC or MWC.

Burning their way to a regular season championship and NCAA bid, after a million players left and a coach that resigned 2 weeks before the season began.

Thanks Jamar! Havent been on in a while but it's good to see these Wichita pricks are making accounts over here. I'm flattered.

Notice the account wasnt made until after this surprisingly successful season over there. Then they get beat by a Valley team in the play-in game which is very poetic.

I love Shockerland.
