I assume this is somewhat directed at me. My rebuttal is simply that the kid played 1A basketball and we have seen a couple highlight videos of him dunking. When his other offers are Coppin State, Tulsa, and Middle Tennessee - please forgive me for not jumping on the hype train. I have never heard a kid with such low recruiting interest make statements that he wants to go pro in 2 years. Maybe he wants to go overseas - that could be possible I guess.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there are academic concerns considering he came from Mali?

Let's hope I am wrong. I am more of a the proof is in the pudding type of guy. I'll let him convince me he's a good player on the college level before I get too excited.

Edited to add: "He was undisciplined at times and fouled out in the fourth." - Should be a good fit

He also had an offer from Grand Canyon. He may have had some others as well that Verbal Committs didn't list.

"He says Grand Canyon University became the most recent program to offer. Sissoko also said Valparaiso has been keeping a close eye on him, and has watched him practice."

ISU men's tennis has 1 coach and 1 player from USA Women's tennis has not one coach or player from USA so 2 out of 22, always way up on the GPA scale at ISU be nice to get a bit more from the states though.

I am also curious on the board's thoughts. Do incoming recruits place much weight on the revolving door at ISU? It seems like it would be fairly simple for the recruit or their family to notice that Dan has a high turnover rate. Do they connect the dots, that this could be related to the head coach? Could this deter talented players. Compared to Dana Ford, it seems like the players love playing for him. He has had quite the recruiting haul. I hope Dan has not become obsolete on the recruiting trail.

The only recruits we will sign now are guys that are holding out for a situation where they are guaranteed playing time, or at least told they are. I dont think kids these days care about the tradition or stability of programs. Give me a place where I can play immediately will take precedence 90% of the time for most recruits. With that said, I'd love to get Dan to answer why we have a revolving door since he has been here and why kids should come to ISU....other than playing time.

Looks as if his hold out for Wisconsin didn't work. I know and have seen this kid many times, he would be the best recruit since Osiris. Hope he does the right thing and comes to Normal!

I don't know the situation everywhere, but are any other MVC schools recruiting anyone in their 2019 class? I was reading the Indy State message board and they are not. I know UNI and Mo State are full for next year.

We make it sounds like this is a normal thing to have this many scholarships open, but doesn't seem like anyone else in the MVC is in this situation. Illinois is in the same bind, but they also have been bad and struggled to recruit for a few years.

I thought we were the only team in the mvc with openings. So Reeves must be down to ISU and Buffalo.

Looks like SIU has 2 scholarships for 19. I went through Verbal Commits. Valpo has 1 scholarship left, SIU 2, ISU 3.
