Best 'o luck, Ike!

Could be a serious get for a D2 or D3 school.

You guys change your minds like a lady! One minute a player is great...then when he announces he is leaving he is D2! You can’t make this stuff up! You still have Hein being a stud...until he decides to leave!

Wanna show me where I said Gassman was great? Or are you just looking for an argument? Stay in your lane, bro.

Would Isaac go D2/D3? He could probably be a top player at a WIU or SIUE.

My lasting memory of Gassman was still my trip to a regional at Ottawa. Their AD said Isaac is the kind of kid you would want to date your daughter. He’s a good basketball player, and even a better person. Good luck to Isaac in his future.

I was out on leave for several weeks. I come back and check the message board today and note that some things never change.... people are so critical of one another and forget about the program

You just can't help yourself, you clearly want us to know! Your posts show up almost every time in the same threads and the same times, same names associated. Well, at least you can have a good conversation with yourself! BTW, welcome back! It was so nice of The Chief to give you a leave of absence. Remember though, your vacation time is all used up!

So be it. Carry on, all 4 or 5 of you.

Dude what are u talking about? And u actually think there are multiples? Maybe, but not me. Check with your bff if you dont believe it

Trey - Humdongie has had his theories for months now.. See post Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:46 pm - Called a poster out for sharing his opinions that were negative towards Dan. Heaven forbid.

Lol thanks for the reminder. He tends to contradict himself quite a bit (based upon what I read of his posts). And humdinger...humdongie it's basically the same

Seriously? A thread about a player leaving and two 5 yr olds are going at it? For the love of God give it a rest.

Hmmmm seems odd but maybe he wants to be on scholarship and he knows that won't happen at ISU. I wish him the best. Great kid and great family.

At most schools, if you walk on, and play any sort of decent minutes, the school will try to get you a scholarship the next season. See this all the time! Muller prefers to give them to guys who end up in jail and leave before they graduate instead. I would be hard pressed to believe Dan couldnt have found a schollie for Gasman with all the movement we see EVERY offseason.
I was thinking the same thing. He contributed a lot for a guy without a scholarship.

Exactly. He's not somebody that just rode the bench the last few years. Somebody that played as much as he did probably deserves a scholarship. Let's see if Muller can actually find somebody better? Ike was never going to be a star, but he contributed more than I ever expected. I hope he gets a full ride somewhere, maybe at a 'lower' D1 school.

There is a remote chance that Isaac will still be a Redbird next year. The way this happens is if we happen to have someone transfer out. This is what I'm hearing from my source. He just entered his name in the transfer portal if someone doesn't transfer.

Does this mean he will stay if he can have a scholarship?

Scholarship reasons or team chemistry reasons?

He has earned a scholarship in my opinion. Hope that happens and he stays. He’s a solid contributor and has the type of character this team needs.

:text-+1:

He was a "preferred" or "recruited" walk-on. That means that if a scholarship was available, he would get it. He got one during the 17-18 season, and then had it yanked for one of the five guys who sat out this year. As previously posted, Ike did everything he was supposed to do and probably even more. He was by far the most reliable shooter on the team, a lot of people on here are cool with him leaving because of his defense. He was a very, very good zone defender, especially at the top of the 2-3. He did have slow feet in the man. I think he could be a contributor next season no matter where he plays.

3.8 points a game in what, 16 games?

No offense, I’m sure he’s a great kid and I wish him well, but we need hard-nosed players who “bring it” all night, every night...not just “good character” guys.

Cali- imho he WAS a hard-nosed player who "brought it" all night, every night. and had good character on top of that.

he would get in trouble when he tried to get to the basket. but felt like he hit a big 3 every game. 40% from the arc. will be sad to see him go if that's the route he takes.

I hope Litwiller gets a call to come back. Kid had passion and was a great teammate.

I know a student who talked with him. Luke didn't want to put in all that time and not be able to play or receive any scholarship money. I don't blame him either, but if I had enough talent to just make the team I'd do it. It would be fun...traveling, etc. I agree though he did have passion.
