We just one of the good guys at ISU. The guy always seemed ready to play no matter how many minutes or games he just sat. I wish him good luck as he represented ISU with class.

Virtually every program, every year, is going to lose a kid or two to transfer.

The Gas has worked very hard. I never thought he would be a contributing player here but he certainly changed my mind, he hit alot of important 3's for us, and he made himself into a much better player. Loads of respect for him and so easy to like. I'll miss him and I hope he gets to play significant minutes wherever he goes! Thank YOU IKE'ers!!

I speculate that Dan just had an honest conversation with him about playing time next year. Imagine defense had a lot to do with it.

Hmmmm seems odd but maybe he wants to be on scholarship and he knows that won't happen at ISU. I wish him the best. Great kid and great family.

At most schools, if you walk on, and play any sort of decent minutes, the school will try to get you a scholarship the next season. See this all the time! Muller prefers to give them to guys who end up in jail and leave before they graduate instead. I would be hard pressed to believe Dan couldnt have found a schollie for Gasman with all the movement we see EVERY offseason.

He gave his all and was one of our more reliable shooters every time he was on the court. He will be missed. He redshirted his freshman year so he would lose a year if he went D1 (unless he got a waiver). I'm thinking IWU is a real possibility, where he will flourish his last 2 years.

I think he could play @ WIU or maybe NIU.

Definitely could play at a lower D1. I'm just not sure the NCAA would grant him a waiver. He's already burned his RS year.
MVC has been a 1 bid league for what, 4 years now? Wichita and Creighton are gone. I think the MVC is officially lower D1 already. ISU’s performances versus Augustana, Chicago State, and UIC support that.

The irony of your screen name and talking about players that go to jail getting scholarships is fantastic!!

No worries, no worries! Plenty of other current identities to choose from!

Could be a serious get for a D2 or D3 school.

You guys change your minds like a lady! One minute a player is great...then when he announces he is leaving he is D2! You can’t make this stuff up! You still have Hein being a stud...until he decides to leave!

What????? My God if you hate the program so much just go away. The d2 and d3 total was because the initial thought was he would have to sit 1 play 1. He was a great student athlete and teammate. We wish him the best.

I hope Muller is looking to replace him with another left hander that can come off the bench.

I was thinking the same thing. He contributed a lot for a guy without a scholarship.

I enjoy your comebacks.

As far as Isaac, if you're gonna come in swinging machetes because you care about the program (I guess), then at least spell a kid's name right that gave us everything he had. I will always point this out and I even called myself out at one point.

I was out on leave for several weeks. I come back and check the message board today and note that some things never change.... people are so critical of one another and forget about the program

You just can't help yourself, you clearly want us to know! Your posts show up almost every time in the same threads and the same times, same names associated. Well, at least you can have a good conversation with yourself! BTW, welcome back! It was so nice of The Chief to give you a leave of absence. Remember though, your vacation time is all used up!

So be it. Carry on, all 4 or 5 of you.

Spot on. The nerve of equating a preferred D1 walk on to a serious get for a D2 school. That wreaks of pollyannishness. Thanks for calling him to the mat on this egregious misstatement. Can't believe Bird Friend thinks Gass Man is better than Larry Bird :naughty:

Trey, good to hear from you. I know things were tough at home do a while. Hope all is better.

As I told you before don’t take what the people say personally. Those that know what going on, know that you have forgotten more about ISU b-ball than some ever will know!!

Some day ISU will be good again and I will show you how to drink again (even though I’m twice your age)!! Plus, people with rose colored glasses will always hate me more than you for saying what we think!!

I'm actually enjoying the game now. Keep at it.
