This won't be well-received by many on this board, but that's OK. As a Redbird fan of 44 years, including through some abysmal football and basketball seasons, it drives me crazy to read posts like that one; and it's obviously not just Cali, many others have posted variations of the same theme. If I start actually caring about Redbird games based primarily on who is on the opposing bench or sideline, I will start questioning my commitment as a Redbird fan. When I was in school, there were plenty of games against Fort Hays State, Nebraska-Omaha, Missouri-Kansas City, Eastern Illinois, etc. and yet I.....and thousands of others each and every gameday...........looked forward with anticipation to gong to the stadium or Fieldhouse. We "actually cared" because it was a Redbird game.

Gotta think they will need to get out on the road more before the conference season. I don't hate the @ Chicago State game because it is a winnable road game....regardless of how good some of Mullers teams have been it seems they always struggle on the road. That game SHOULD be a win and provide some confidence for the guys.

If they had 3 more, I'd like it to be at least 2 on the road. I'd take another buy game and a game against a regional, respectable MM (Milwaukee is gonna be a good team, young-but good).

I remember a year we played NIU twice. Long Island. Valpo. Centenary (LA). UC-Santa Barbara went 8-19 that year and we LOST to them. This board went nuts!
